Environmental Health & Safety CoordinatorPosition OverviewThe Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) Coordinator will be responsible for supporting all aspects of environmental programs, occupational health, and industrial safety. They will identify, develop, implement, recommend, and actively engage in solutions to EHS concerns. They will assist with EHS programs and initiatives consistent with the company's values and in compliance with federal, state, local, and EVAPCO requirements. The EHS Coordinator will provide leadership, support, and guidance to employees for EHS-related practices and procedures. This position will report directly to the Site EHS Manager.
Key Responsibilities- Support programs to reduce work-related illnesses and injuries and improve operations productivity. Develop necessary safety training for management and the line organization.
- Develop necessary action plans, conduct plant-wide safety inspections, and monitor closure of safety-related corrective actions.
- Assist supervisors with accident/incident investigations to find the root cause and implement an action plan to prevent reoccurrence.
- Responsible for leading EHS-related training sessions and periodic meetings (i.e., Safety Committee, First Responder, New Employee Orientation, etc.).
- Participate in establishing facility EHS performance goals, monitor program effectiveness, provide data and progress reports to site management, and provide support to ensure timely and effective closure of corrective actions.
- Maintain federal, state, and EVAPCO-required documentation of incidents, including correspondence with insurance providers for workers' compensation claims.
- Conduct inspections/evaluations of processes, equipment, facilities, and machinery to identify and correct potential hazards and to ensure compliance with safety regulations is met and exceeded.
- Develop and communicate safety-related tools to improve performance and increase efficiency in meeting objectives and ensuring compliance with legal and other requirements.
- Position may involve acting as an Emergency Coordinator for the facility and may involve signing hazardous waste manifests and classifying, analyzing, and labeling hazardous and residual wastes.
- Work closely with regulatory agencies and community groups to secure EVAPCO's reputation as an industry leader in EHS performance.
- Perform other related duties as assigned by the EHS Manager.
Qualifications- Bachelor's degree in Environmental Health and Safety, Occupational Safety, or a related field.
- 2-4 years of experience in an EHS role, preferably in a manufacturing setting.
- Professional certifications are a plus (CHMM, ASP, etc.).
- Certification in First Aid, CPR, and AED, or the ability to earn certification within 6 months.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.

Pay Range: $90,000 - $108,000 per year
