Overview

As an Environmental (Scientist/Engineer) Assistant Project Manager for Civil & Environmental Consultants, Inc. (CEC), you'll be a key part of project teams working to navigate today's complex environmental regulatory landscape, helping our commercial, manufacturing, institutional, and solid waste clients. You'll supervise junior scientists/engineers and lead project work to provide a variety of environmental services to our clients, such as Phase I and Phase II Environmental Site Assessments, subsurface investigations, quarterly/annual reporting, and soil and water remediation projects.

Working with clients, contractors, and local regulatory officials, you will have the opportunity to impact the project lifecycle - from development of a conceptual approach, through site investigation planning and implementation, and through regulatory review and the remedial process.

This role offers the opportunity to advance your career by leading and collaborating with multidisciplinary teams of engineers, scientists, and technical specialists on complex and impactful projects. You will play a key leadership role by mentoring staff-level technical professionals, fostering their professional development, and helping shape technical excellence across the organization. In addition to building and strengthening client relationships, you will gain extensive project management experience by developing and managing project scopes, schedules, and budgets for complex assignments. Qualifications
  • 7+ years of professional experience
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Environmental Engineering, Geology, Hydrogeology, Environmental Science, or related field
  • Professional Engineering License (P.E.) or Professional Geologist (PG), a plus
  • Experience conducting Environmental Site Assessments (Phase I & II ESAs) associated with due diligence for real estate transactions. ASTM E1527-21 training, a plus
  • Working knowledge of state and federal environmental regulations (e.g., RCRA, Act 2, CERCLA, CWA, etc.)
  • Practical experience with completing environmental site assessments and investigations, and ability to interpret data, communicate findings from site assessment activities to clients, and make recommendations relevant to project objectives
  • Strong professional communication and technical writing skills
  • Working knowledge for Microsoft Excel and Word
  • OSHA 40-hour HAZWOPER training a plus
