OverviewABOUT THE POSITIONCome join our dynamic team of 20+ Water Resource professionals. We're seeking an early-career Water Resources Engineer to work with our existing water resource group and support our work in the areas of stormwater management and design, hydrology and hydraulics analysis, culvert and bridge design, and resiliency efforts, among others. Our work supports public and private clients with resilient and sustainable solutions to their water resources challenges using innovative approaches.
Work is expected to begin in summer or fall 2027 and will be performed in a hybrid work setting.Responsibilities- Work within a team of professionals in developing site civil engineering plans and specifications for a multitude of environmental, land development, transportation, and water resources projects
- Conduct a wide array of water resources related studies and analysis including: Hydrologic and hydraulic analysis of stormwater systems, riverine and coastal hydraulics, analysis and design of conveyance and treatment systems, and floodplain analysis
- Analyze and design structural stormwater treatment measures
- Prepare technical reports, graphics, and guidance documents for stormwater and hydraulic analyses and designs
- Conduct data collection and field work
Skills and Abilities- Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
- Highly motivated, detail oriented, and organized
- Ability to solve problems and think critically and creatively
- Team oriented
- Strong computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and familiarity with AI tools
- Experience with AutoCAD and ArcGIS desired
- Familiarity with hydrologic and hydraulic modeling and analysis desired
Qualifications- 0-1 years of civil/environmental engineering experience, or a related field
- BS in Civil or Environmental Engineering, or related field
- Master's degree a plus
- Ability and willingness to perform field work and travel to project sites as needed
- FE desired
This full-time annual base salary range for this position, located in Massachusetts, is $86,000 to $88,000. The base salary offered will be determined based on job-related factors, including geographic location, internal equity, experience, credentials, skills, education, work schedule, and other factors permitted by law. The posted salary range reflects base pay only. Additional compensation and benefits available to eligible employees are outlined in our Total Rewards Program.
Annual base salary is one component of VHB's Total Rewards package.
