This role will support ongoing modernization and O&M by implementing and managing secure, scalable applications and workflow automations using Microsoft 365 technologies, Power Platform, .NET, Python, and emerging enterprise AI-enabled tools. The developer will collaborate with project managers, SMEs, and IT partners to design, develop, and deploy AI-driven solutions that streamline organizational processes, enhance business intelligence, and responsibly leverage state-of-the-art Generative AI APIs in alignment with federal security and governance guidance.
- Participate in the full software development lifecycle, including requirements gathering, solution design, coding, testing, and quality assurance.
- Develop applications, workflows, dashboards, and integrations using M365 and Power Platform (Power Apps, Power Automate, Dataverse, SharePoint).
- Build and maintain enterprise services and APIs using .NET, Python, JavaScript, and/or TypeScript.
- Design, integrate, and deploy organizational AI-enabled solutions utilizing leading frontier models and APIs (e.g., Azure OpenAI, Claude, Gemini, ChatGPT). This includes building custom connectors, automating document processing, conducting cognitive data extraction, and orchestrating multi-model workflows to solve complex agency challenges.
- Modernize legacy business processes into automated, cloud-based solutions following security, governance, and data management requirements.
- Support dashboard and reporting enhancements by integrating new datasets, semantic models, and reusable components.
- Troubleshoot issues, document work, and promote secure development practices across tools and environments.
- Partner with cybersecurity, infrastructure, and data teams to ensure compliance with federal standards (including responsible AI policies).
Minimum Qualifications- Bachelor's degree in computer science, Computer Engineering, or a related technical discipline required.
- 5-10 years of professional software development with hands-on experience as a developer.
Other Job Specific Skills- Hands on experience building solutions with M365 and Power Platform.
- Proficiency in .NET (C#), Python, JavaScript, and/or TypeScript.
- SQL expertise, including writing queries and creating tables, views, and stored procedures.
- Works independently under general supervision.
- Able to resolve moderately complex technical issues; escalates highly complex issues to senior staff as needed.
- Demonstrates solid working knowledge of core development concepts and technologies.
