Full Job Description
THE ROLE

The Enterprise Risk Business Partner serves as the subject matter expert for artificial intelligence (AI) governance, AI risk assessment, and AI risk mitigation across MFS. The role is responsible for helping establish, maintain, and operationalize risk management practices for AI-enabled solutions, machine learning, generative AI, intelligent automation, advanced analytics, and related emerging technologies.

WHAT YOU WILL DO
  • Lead and support the development, enhancement, and operational execution of MFS' AI governance and AI risk management framework.
  • Conduct and facilitate risk assessments for AI, generative AI, machine learning, intelligent automation, advanced analytics, and related technology-enabled business processes.
  • Evaluate the design and effectiveness of AI-related governance controls, risk indicators, monitoring routines, documentation practices, and management reporting.
  • Monitor and evaluate evolving AI-related regulatory expectations, supervisory themes, and industry practices relevant to investment management and financial services.
  • Serve as a trusted advisor and independent risk partner to stakeholders exploring, implementing, or operating AI-enabled business capabilities.
  • Provide additional Enterprise Risk business partner support to Finance and Fund Treasury leadership and teams.
  • Prepare and present clear, concise, executive-ready risk reporting for senior management, governance forums, and Enterprise Risk leadership.
  • Promote a strong risk-aware culture by facilitating workshops, stakeholder discussions, and risk education related to AI governance, responsible AI, emerging technology risk, and business risk management.
  • Lead or support risk assessments for significant business, operational, technology, regulatory, vendor, and transformation initiatives, with emphasis on AI-enabled or data-driven change.


WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience.
  • Must have at least 6-8 years' work experience in risk (enterprise, AI governance, operational, or IT risk), investment management, financial services, or industry-related compliance.
  • Knowledge of AI governance, AI risk management, generative AI, intelligent automation, and emerging technology risk.
  • Strong understanding of governance frameworks, risk assessment methodologies, internal control concepts, risk appetite, risk reporting, and effective challenge.
  • Ability to assess AI-related risks and translate technical risks into practical business, control, and governance considerations for senior stakeholders.
  • Ability to work independently with limited direction and guidance, manage multiple programs simultaneously
  • Strong project management and organizational skills, including the ability to complete projects and reports timely
  • Proven analytical skills with the ability to make independent decisions and develop creative solutions to problems.


PREFERRED SKILLS, QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE
  • Understanding of internal control concepts and experience in conducting risk assessments preferred.
  • Experience conducting or facilitating risk assessments, control evaluations, issue management, and management reporting.
  • Experience with Governance, Risk & Compliance (GRC) tools.
  • Experience with risk analytics, data visualization, and reporting tools such as Tableau or Power BI.
  • Experience within investment management, asset management, fund administration, or fund treasury organizations.
  • Experience implementing or overseeing AI governance programs.

Base Salary Range: $110,000.00 - $158,500.00This position is eligible for competitive incentive bonus.
At MFS, we believe in fair and transparent compensation. For that reason, we're including the salary range for this position. This range reflects our good-faith expectation for what we'll pay depending on the candidate's experience, training and education. In addition to the salary, we also offer significant and competitive incentive compensation based on both individual and company performance. Other components of our Total Rewards Package include:
  • MFS contributes an amount equal to 15% of your base salary to your retirement account that is separate from the company -sponsored 401(k)
