The Enterprise Banking Services Manager III – Commercial Loans Clear to Close/Fund leads the Commercial Closing team supporting multiple lines of business, including Commercial, Commercial Real Estate, Food & Ag, Structured Finance, Specialty Commercial with foreign letters of credit, and SBA. This role provides leadership oversight for the Commercial Loan Closing department with Enterprise Banking Services, with responsibility for associate coaching, workload management, service levels, quality control, risk management, procedure development, and business partner engagement.
The position requires strong experience with prior management over large teams of associates tasks with highly complex commercial loans, including attorney-prepared documents, internally prepared documents, due diligence requirements, Clear to Close/Clear to Fund standards, and specialized loan types such as SBA transactions and foreign letters of credit. The role also works closely with Legal, Credit, Compliance, Sales lines of business, Digital, and other internal partners to support deal-specific nuances, process guidance, exception resolution, platform enhancements, and timely customer-focused loan closings.
Preferred platform and system experience includes nCino, TruStage, and DocuSign, as well as general experience with commercial loan documentation systems, reporting dashboards, vendor coordination, system testing, and documentation configuration. This position also supports Senior and Executive Management, as needed, with training, acquisition or market expansion activities, process improvement, and operational readiness to ensure consistent, accurate, and compliant commercial loan closing execution.
Essential Functions/Responsibilities
• Involved in strategic planning and execution process for areas of responsibility and Enterprise Banking Services
• Create a culture of engagement and continuous improvement
• Develop, maintain and enforce sound procedures
• Responsible for training, oversight and documentation as related to operational procedures
• Review financial statements and data. Utilize financial data to reduce expenses and increase profitability. Prepare and control operational budgets. Plan effective strategies for the financial well-being of the company.
• Involved in the implementation of system changes to support new products, ensures system integrity, and recommends program changes to more efficiently and effectively support services offered
• Prepare and socialize/communicate monthly statistical reports, develop Key Performance Indicators (KPI) and Service Level Agreements (SLA) for area(s) of responsibility while identifying best practices and trends
• Oversee coordination with Compliance, Legal, and Risk areas to administer department’s functions, ensuring compliance by establishing, monitoring, and maintaining policies and procedures
• Provides consultation and advice to service partners and clients.
• Drive and sustain associate engagement
Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Needed to Perform Essential Functions of the Job
• Seven (7) years of banking operations and/or financial services industry experience
• Four (4) years prior management experience
• Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication, organizational, managerial and project management skills
• Proven ability to effectively listen, collaborate, and influence
• Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, draw valid conclusions, and resolve or escalate as necessary
• Ability to change priorities quickly, handle multiple priorities, work effectively under time constraints, and contribute to the team effort
• Advanced knowledge of and ability to design, implement and evaluate standard operating procedures affecting daily and strategic business operations in order to increase operational efficiency
• Strong product knowledge, relative to area of responsibility with understanding of internal and external functionality
Preferred Knowledge and Skills
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent working experience required.
• Strong working knowledge of banking laws, regulations, and guidelines that govern business and financial activities, clear understanding of organizational risk profiles and sound risk management practices
Level of Complexity and Scope
• Responsible for multiple functions across one or more sites, or managing a complex product, function and/or system(s)
• Function is highly regulated and complex with focus on mitigating financial exposure
• Typically manages through subordinate managers and professionals in larger groups of moderate to high complexity
• Considered subject matter expert
• Effective decision maker especially in ambiguity situations
Degree of Independence and Decision-Making
• Use independent judgement and have a high degree of responsibility
• Acts as the senior point of escalation and resolves exceptions and complex process and product support problems
• Work with minimal supervision
• Responsible for escalation of day-to-day tactical decisions and issues that are warranted
Required Supervisory Responsibilities
• Manages and coordinates the operational activities and associates for assigned functional area(s).
• Direct management of staff (i.e. performance improvements, reviews, hiring/terminations)
Physical Requirements
• Prolonged periods of deskwork.
• Frequent use of computer, keyboard, phone and office equipment.
• Occasionally moving within the office or to other locations within the building.
• Occasionally lifting and carrying light objects, typically up to 10-15 pounds.
• Clear and effective communication in person and over the phone.
Compliance Statement
The associate is responsible for meeting all compliance requirements imposed on First Financial Bank by State and Federal law and regulation, as well as all related First Financial Bank policies and procedures. This includes all Bank Secrecy Act, Anti-Money Laundering, OFAC and Suspicious Activity reporting requirements, as well as all other lending and deposit compliance requirements.
Development and Training
Pay Range:
$107,000/year to $142,760/year
