Enterprise Architect (Subject Matter Expert)

Location: Scott Air Force Base, IL (On-Site)
Employment Type: Full-Time
Salary Range:$110,000 - $130,000 annually
Clearance: Active Secret Clearance Required (or ability to obtain, if applicable)

We are seeking a highly skilled Enterprise Architect (Subject Matter Expert) to support the Department of the Air Force (DAF) Battle Network. This position plays a critical role in developing, maintaining, and enforcing enterprise architecture (EA) policies, processes, and standards while supporting operational architecture requirements and strategic modernization initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
  • Develop, maintain, and improve Enterprise Architecture (EA) policies, standards, and processes.
  • Conduct comprehensive enterprise architecture data analysis to support operational vignettes and mission planning.
  • Review, analyze, and validate data within the Common Architecture Tool Suite (CATS).
  • Ensure compliance with enterprise architecture requirements and monitor timely delivery of architecture products.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, engineers, and stakeholders to maintain architectural integrity and alignment with DAF objectives.
  • Develop and implement enterprise architecture strategies, methodologies, and best practices.
  • Provide subject matter expertise and technical guidance on enterprise architecture principles, frameworks, and governance.
  • Monitor architecture performance, identify improvement opportunities, and prepare reports for leadership.
  • Support enterprise modernization initiatives and strategic planning efforts across the DAF Battle Network.


Requirements

Required Qualifications
  • Minimum 8 years of experience in Enterprise Architecture, Systems Architecture, or related technical disciplines.
  • Experience developing and maintaining Enterprise Architecture policies, processes, and governance.
  • Experience analyzing enterprise architecture data and supporting complex operational environments.
  • Experience working with the Common Architecture Tool Suite (CATS) or similar enterprise architecture tools.
  • Strong understanding of enterprise architecture frameworks, methodologies, and best practices.
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with experience briefing senior leadership.
  • Ability to work effectively in a collaborative, mission-focused environment.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience supporting the Department of Defense (DoD) or Department of the Air Force (DAF).
  • Experience supporting operational planning, architecture development, or modernization initiatives.
  • Familiarity with DoDAF, FEAF, TOGAF, or other enterprise architecture frameworks.
  • Experience supporting digital transformation and enterprise integration efforts.
  • Project management experience supporting large-scale government programs.
