What you'll doIn this hands-on role, you'll play a key part in building, testing, and troubleshooting advanced RF-based hybrid electro-mechanical modules and subassemblies. You'll have the opportunity to work with cutting-edge technology while developing and maintaining custom test systems that support critical programs.
Key responsibilities include:
- Performing RF testing and troubleshooting down to the circuit level.
- Conducting high-level RF measurements, including gain, P1dB, noise figure, phase noise, adjacent channel rejection, isolation, and other performance metrics.
- Developing test methods, procedures, and documentation to ensure accurate and repeatable results.
- Collaborating closely with Design Engineers, Test Engineers, and Manufacturing teams to investigate issues, identify root causes, and implement effective solutions.
- Applying sound technical judgment and attention to detail to support complex programs across a variety of applications.

The day-to-day- Perform Tests on Viasat RF Products.
- Documenting and Troubleshooting Test Failures.
- Working with Engineers to help solve problems related to testing Viasat products.
- Building new Test Set Uops and calibrating Test statsion for RF performance.
- Data collection and Data Analysis.
What you'll need- 6+ years relevant work experience
- Experience testing and troubleshooting electronic products in resourceful and effective methods
- Read schematics and understand electronic circuits
- Basic computer skills including good skills with Microsoft Office
- Strong communication and team skills
- Associates of Science Degree in Electronics Technology or related technical discipline or equivalent work experience
- Ability to work autonomously
- Microsoft Office Skills.
- US Citizenship and the ability to obtain and maintain a secret clearance are required.
What will help you on the job- Experience with RF test, measurement, and calibration techniques
- Experience working in a development engineering environment (high levels of ambiguity)
- Experience testing and troubleshooting RF amplifiers, LNAs, and Up/Down Converters
- Experience with test equipment such as signal generators, spectrum analyzers, network analyzers, power meters, noise figure meters, oscilloscopes, digital multimeters, and thermal chambers/plates
Salary range$32.21 - $50.96 / hourly. For specific work locations within San Jose, the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, the base pay range for this role is $40.14 - $60.34/ hourly
