Engineering Technician x3Job Summary:TechSource a Salas O'Brien Company is hiring a full-time Electrical Technician supporting TechSource and our client, Los Alamos National Laboratory (LANL). TechSource has a decades-long relationship with LANL and is the prime contractor supporting the Scorpius project in Los Alamos, NM.
In this role, you will support the installation, assembly, testing, troubleshooting, and integration of electrical systems for the Scorpius linear induction electron accelerator, which supports subcritical experiment diagnostics at the Nevada National Security Site (NNSS). You will work closely with engineers and technicians to ensure electrical subsystems are built, installed, and maintained to specification, quality, and safety standards.
Responsibilities: - Install, wire, assemble, and test electrical systems and subsystems for accelerator components (e.g., IVA, SAC assemblies, LRU-8)
- Perform electrical troubleshooting, diagnostics, and repairs on power, control, and instrumentation systems
- Coordinate and support fabrication, assembly, and electrical testing activities
- Assist with system integration, maintenance, and upgrades
- Read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical drawings
- Use lab test equipment (e.g., multimeters, oscilloscopes, hipot testers) to verify system performance
- Support and help train technicians in electrical assembly and safe work practices
- Collaborate with engineers and technical teams across multiple national labs and sites
- Ensure compliance with electrical, quality, and safety standards, including disciplined operations and documentation requirements
Qualifications and Experience: - Bachelor's in Engineering Technology, Science, Math, or related field
- 5 years' of relevant experience (or equivalent)
- Basic knowledge of GD&T and experience with mechanical assembly
- Familiarity with lab test equipment and basic shop tools
Preferred Qualifications: - Familiarity with electron beam accelerator systems
- Experience interpreting technical drawings and disciplined operations
Location: This position will be fully on-site starting in Los Alamos, NM and moving over to Las Vegas, NV once the project meets required targets.
Compensation & Benefits: The expected base salary range for this role is $80,000 - $135,000 USD per year. Actual compensation will be determined based on a number of factors including skills, experience, qualifications, and location.
