We are currently hiring an Engineering Project Manager (Tool Install Design Lead) for our team. In this role, you will collaborate with lead engineers, manage project scope and schedule, drive technical decisions, and be the primary design liaison to client Tool Experts, ensuring alignment between SSOE’s technical approach and client expectations. Working alongside the designated Project Manager, you co-lead the project through all phases to final delivery. This partnership ensures both technical excellence and consistent client engagement throughout the lifecycle. Together, you form a unified team responsible for delivering exceptional results from every angle.
This position is an onsite role that will require you to work onsite each day and be located in the N. Phoenix, AZ area. Remote or hybrid work arrangements for this role are not available.

Responsibilities
- Craft and implement detailed project plans encompassing technical specifications, engineering standards, and quality control measures, including hookup design, subfab laterals, and process equipment layouts.
- Lead and contribute to day-to-day coordination with delivery teams and partnering closely with the Project Manager to align design execution with client expectations, schedules, and budgets.
- Serve as the Design Liaison to client Tool Experts and Project Managers to clear design constraints and close open issues
- Collaborate with lead engineers from multiple disciplines to manage project scope, drive technical decisions, and ensure deliverables meet stringent semiconductor industry standards.
- Proactively identify, understand, and manage the project scope, track project progress, mitigate engineering risks, and proactively address design challenges across functional areas of the fab.
- Champion process improvements and engineer innovative technical solutions to project-related issues.
- Coordinate technical meetings, manage document control, and support RFI responses with contractors, clients, and regulatory agencies.
- Handle increasingly complex tool install work assignments, adhering to defined scope, schedule, and cost guidelines with moderate supervision.
- Identify and address technical obstacles to keep projects on track in fast-paced, schedule-driven semiconductor environments.
Qualifications
- Proven ability to communicate complex technical concepts clearly to internal teams, contractors, and project stakeholders.
- Proficiency in engineering and drafting software tools, with a strong technical aptitude for leveraging technology to drive project efficiency.
- Ability to thrive in collaborative, cross-office environments, including coordination with international project sites and global teams.
- Demonstrated professional proficiency in both Mandarin and English, with the ability to accurately and effectively translate and interpret written and spoken communications as required by the responsibilities of the role is highly preferred.
- Familiarity with tool installation, process equipment installation design, or semiconductor fab environments is a strong plus.
- Previous experience as a Design Lead, Engineering Project Manager, or similar role in a semiconductor, advanced technology, or industrial construction environment is highly preferred.
- An Associate degree in a relevant engineering field (e.g., civil, electrical, mechanical, industrial, process, or structural). A Bachelor's degree is highly preferred.
- Certification as a Certified Associate in Project Management (CAPM) or Project Management Professional (PMP) from the Project Management Institute (PMI) is a plus.
- Salary Range: $90,000 - $130,000/year depending on location, education, depth of relevant experience, and any specialized licensure/certifications. Opportunity for ample rewards, leadership incentive components, and generous bonus opportunities.
