What We're Doing

At Lockheed Martin - Rotary and Mission Systems (RMS) in Owego, NY, we proudly support Naval Helicopter programs that are essential to maritime security and mission readiness. Our teams design and deliver advanced mission systems, avionics, and secure technologies that provide unmatched performance and resilience for the U.S. Navy and allied forces. The Work

As an Engineering Planner in Owego, NY, you will be part of the Naval Helo Mission Systems team supporting Naval Helicopter programs. You will play a key role in program planning and execution by:

Collecting and compiling metrics to be reviewed with technical leads, program managers, and engineering program managers for accuracy and validity.

Collecting and evaluating workforce planning reports to support workload reviews and future staffing projections.

Tracking, comparing, and reporting weekly actuals against monthly staffing plans.

Evaluating planned vs. actual performance management in support of Earned Value Management, Work Package Management, and Control Account Management.

Performing Integrated Master Schedule Development and Schedule Status Management.

Prepares and coordinates the plans and schedules for new or existing programs.

Determines, monitors, and reviews costs, operational budgets and schedules, and manpower requirements.

Supports and participates in negotiations with customer.

Analyzes effects of projects upon various areas such as Engineering, Facilities, and the labor pool to determine the most practical and cost-efficient methods to obtain the required resources.

Resolves proposal preparation problems and assesses the progress against established plans and parameters.

Formulates and recommends corrective action measures such as schedule revisions, manpower adjustments, fund allocations, and work requirements.

This role is hybrid, and applicants should be local to Owego, NY.

Strong communication skills and the ability to interface effectively with government customers

Experience or interest in project engineering, planning, cost estimating, or technical documentation

A structured, analytical approach to managing data, deliverables, and configuration-controlled environments

The ability to collaborate across engineering, program management, and operations teams

Basic Qualifications

Associates Degree from accredited college

Certified Lockheed Martin Control Account Manager (CAM), with Earned Value Management and experience with PM Compass and Cobra

Workload management experience with the LM Vemo Planning and Analytics tool

Familiarity with Lockheed Martin engineering process

Demonstrated ability to work multiple tasks concurrently

Demonstrated ability to create effective working relationships across organizations and program teams.

Tool Experience: PM Compass, wInsight, Tableau, GenBOE, Atlassian (JIRA, Confluence)

Pay Information

Full-Time Salary Range: $59900.00 - $111300.00

  • Annual short-term and/or long-term incentive compensation programs may be offered depending on the position. Payments under these annual programs are not guaranteed and can vary from year to year and are tied to a range of performance metrics.
  • For (Washington state applicants only) Non-represented full-time employees: accrue at least 10 hours per month of Paid Time Off (PTO) to be used for incidental absences and other reasons; receive at least 90 hours for holidays. Represented full time employees accrue 6.67 hours of Vacation per month; accrue up to 52 hours of sick leave annually; receive at least 96 hours for holidays. PTO, Vacation, sick leave, and holiday hours are prorated based on start date during the calendar year.
