Engineering | Maintenance | Capital Projects | Growing Metal Fabrication Manufacturer

Talis Group's privately owned manufacturing client is growing its metal fabrication capabilities and is looking for a hands-on technical leader to help take the operation to the next level. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced engineer or technical leader who enjoys being on the shop floor, developing teams, leading capital projects, and driving meaningful improvements in manufacturing performance.

The Manager of Technical Operations will oversee Engineering, Maintenance, and Facilities, with significant opportunity to build the department, strengthen preventative maintenance, improve equipment reliability, and support the company's continued growth.

Highlighted Duties

  • Lead, coach, and develop the Engineering and Maintenance teams, building a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.
  • Lead capital projects including equipment selection, installation, commissioning, and facility improvements.
  • Develop and implement preventive and predictive maintenance programs to improve equipment reliability and reduce downtime.
  • Drive manufacturing engineering initiatives involving process improvements, tooling, fixtures, automation, and equipment.
  • Partner with Production and Operations to solve technical challenges and improve safety, quality, productivity, and cost.
  • Develop long-term equipment, facility, and asset management strategies to support company growth.
  • Manage contractors, vendors, and technical service providers.
  • Develop a strong MRO process to ensure the shop has the parts, tooling, and supplies needed to operate efficiently.
  • Identify, develop, and grow technical talent while building the capabilities needed for the company's future.
