Full Job Description
As a Turbine Engineer Power Senior/Staff, you will work independently to anticipate internal and external business trends on major projects and recommend improvements to policies, procedures, and standards. You will advise and deliver technical presentations to our management team and direct the work of others which will be key to your success!
Responsibilities/Expectations:
• Performs technical and economic evaluation, performance testing, design and construction of new facilities, or upgrading existing facilities, and research on new developments
• Accounts for a diverse range of sophisticated assignments requiring the use of experience, innovation and judgment; may direct work of other engineers and/or support staff
• Serves as a technical specialist in rotating equipment and reciprocating turbines
• Applies specialized knowledge in the effective completion of major projects
• Prepares and delivers presentations
• Anticipates our internal/external customer needs; assesses requirements and identifies solutions
• Maintains a strong understanding of our industry and operational requirements; champions best standards and safety standards
• Interprets internal/external business challenges and improves products, processes or services
• Collaborates with others to ensure compliance, build improvement plans and meet training needs
• Monitors and controls costs and resources associated with projects
• Serves as a technical subject matter expert in gas turbine and reciprocating engine power generation with expertise in generator controls technology
• Performs technical analysis of various generator manufacturer 5MW and larger
• Analyzes equipment reliability, generator vibration, generator health with transient loading, and generator protection
• Other duties as assigned
Education/Years of Experience:
Senior:
• Required: Bachelor's Degree in relevant Engineering field from an accredited college or university, OR Bachelor's Degree in Engineering Technology in a relevant field with Professional Engineer (P.E.) license; A minimum of eight (8) years of engineering experience in the natural gas or petrochemical industry
• Required: Bachelor's Degree in Engineering; a minimum of seven (7) years of engineering experience in the natural gas or petrochemical industry with a PE Certification
Staff:
• Required: Bachelor's Degree in relevant Engineering field from an accredited college or university, OR Bachelor's Degree in Engineering Technology in a relevant field with Professional Engineer (P.E.) license; A minimum of fifteen (15) years of engineering experience in the natural gas or petrochemical industry
Other Requirements:
• Demonstrates excellent organizational/interpersonal skills and safety as the utmost priority
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Applications and PC skills
• Demonstrates expertise in rotating equipment, specifically reciprocating turbines
• Preferred: Project management experience
