Bowman has an opportunity for an Engineer IV, Structural (Oil & Gas) to join our team in Houston, TX.

Purpose

Senior leadership position, responsible for providing strategic direction, technical oversight, and mentorship to the civil engineering discipline. You will play a critical role in shaping the organization's engineering strategies, driving innovation, and ensuring excellence in project execution.

Responsibilities:
  • Perform building sizing and selection, alternative analyses, and other deliverables.
  • Support the engineering, design, procurement, construction, and commissioning of facilities.
  • Present engineering and design deliverables to project members, cross-functional teams, senior leadership, external vendors, clients, and other stakeholders.
  • Plan, forecast, and actualize deliverable progress to support project progress reporting and schedule requirements.
  • Identify scope changes and estimate impact to effort and schedule.
  • Supports proposal efforts by evaluating RFP scope, identifying list of deliverables, and estimating effort required
  • Work is highly independent.
  • Prepares, reviews, and approves foundation, structural steel, building, and earthwork calculations, requisitions, studies, reports, BOMs, and designs.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in structural engineering, civil engineering, or related field.
  • Eight or more (8+) years of experience required.
  • Professional Engineer licensure preferred.
  • Extensive knowledge and experience in civil engineering principles and practices, particularly in the energy sector.
  • Advanced proficiency in emerging civil engineering software and tools.
  • Strong understanding of environmental and sustainability considerations.
  • Advanced proficiency in geotechnical and structural engineering principles.
  • In-depth knowledge of industry codes, regulations, and best practices.
  • Excellent facilitation, communication, and analytical skills - written and verbal.
  • High level of personal integrity.
  • Strong relationship capabilities.
  • Proficient in both written and spoken English.


Physical Demands and Working Environment

  • Primarily indoor professional office environment which may include bright/dim light, noise, fumes, odors, and traffic.
  • Mobility around an office environment.
  • Some outdoor work environment which may include adverse weather conditions, varying temperatures, excessive noise, and/or potential hazards.
  • Mobility around a job/construction site to include walking, bending, crawling, climbing, use of ladders, squatting, or kneeling and wearing of required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), including occasional survey on elevated surfaces and roofs.
  • Occasional lifting or carrying up to 20 pounds.
  • Occasional pushing or pulling up to 20 pounds.
