About the Role:CrowdStrike is looking for a Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET) in the Platform product group responsible for authentication and authorization. The Auth team is responsible for both internal (e.g. Service-to-service authorization, etc.) and external (e.g. user login, etc) authN and authZ. The team is a critical part of cloud, frequently working collaboratively with many other product groups. The team builds and extends services that can make 1+ trillion decisions per day!.
You'll be instrumental in building and scaling our next-generation test automation infrastructure, focusing on frameworks, libraries, and tooling that ensure the quality of our cloud services. We process millions of security events per second and manage petabytes of critical security data - the scale and impact of your work will be significant. We're seeking innovative problem-solvers who can take ownership of complex technical challenges and drive quality initiatives across our platform. You'll work with cutting-edge cloud technologies while helping protect organizations worldwide from sophisticated cyber threats.

This role is hybrid, requiring 2-3 days per week on-site at one of the posted locations.What You'll Do:- Design and implement scalable test automation frameworks for complex distributed systems involving cloud services and endpoint agent software.
- Develop comprehensive test strategies for security-critical features, focusing on reliability, accuracy, and performance at scale
- Review engineering technical designs with a focus on testability, security implications, and potential edge cases
- Create and maintain cloud-based test infrastructure that simulates real-world deployment scenarios
- Build tools and frameworks for testing complex agent-cloud interactions, data processing pipelines, and API integrations
- Drive root cause analysis for production issues and implement automated tests to prevent regression
- Mentor team members on test automation best practices and security-conscious testing approaches
What You'll Need:- 6+ years of combined experience as an SDET or Backend Developer
- 3+ years building testing frameworks and tooling for Cloud SaaS products
- Strong computer science fundamentals (algorithms, data structures, distributed systems)
- Expertise in at least one modern programming language: Go, Python, Java, C++, JavaScript/TypeScript
- Deep understanding of:
- Cloud architectures and microservices
- Web Services: REST, gRPC, Protocol Buffers or similar API technologies
- Data storage systems: PostgreSQL, Cassandra, Redis or similar databases
- Container technologies: Docker, Kubernetes or similar orchestration platforms
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines and testing in cloud environments (AWS/Azure/GCP)
- Strong debugging skills with ability to troubleshoot complex distributed systems
- Experience with cloud performance testing and monitoring tools (e.g., JMeter, Gatling, New Relic, Datadog, Prometheus/Grafana)
- Proven experience utilizing AI technologies to enhance decision-making, streamline workflows and processes, improve efficiency and drive business outcomes.
Bonus Points:- Previous experience testing security products, endpoint agents, or EDR solutions
- Understanding of endpoint security concepts and threat detection mechanisms
- Experience with real-time data processing systems (Kafka, Storm, Spark)
- Contributions to open source security tools or testing frameworks
- Knowledge of attack frameworks (MITRE ATT&CK) and common security vulnerabilities
- Experience with chaos engineering and resilience testing
- Background in any of: threat detection, incident response, or security operations
- Proven track record of building developer-friendly testing tools and frameworks

CrowdStrike is committed to fair and equitable compensation practices. Placement within the pay range is dependent on a variety of factors including, but not limited to, relevant work experience, skills, certifications, job level, supervisory status, and location. The base salary range for this position for all U.S. candidates is $120,000 - $180,000 per year, with eligibility for bonuses, equity grants and a comprehensive benefits package that includes health insurance, 401k and paid time off.
