About the Role:
On the Engineering Systems team at CrowdStrike, we operate and maintain many of the systems and services that support the build, test, signing, and deployment of our software to the cloud and to our customers, as well as providing consultation, troubleshooting, and engineering support for the creation and maintenance of the pipelines that provide those functions. As CrowdStrike grows, we’re looking for an automation engineer who can help us move from the tools that got us where we are now to the tools that can take us into the future.
What You’ll Do:
Manage code signing for binaries, packages, and or software artifacts across multiple platforms (e.g. Windows, Linux, Mac). Including Microsoft Azure Artifact Signing, Mac OS/IOS Code Signing, Android Package Signing, and Linux Package Signing.
Manage certificate lifecycles, including issuance, renewal, revocation, and storage.
Design, implement, and maintain encryption, certificate, and code signing frameworks. Including automation solutions and tooling that ensure the reliability, efficiency, and scalability of build systems.
Proactively identify opportunities to improve the operation of existing systems
Drive improvements end-to-end, from the initial design stage (including eliciting specifications from key stakeholders) all the way to delivering a finished product internal customers can benefit from
Produce clear and maintainable code with minimal oversight
Provide documentation for the users of the tools created
Perform code reviews
Perform typical on-call build engineer functions such as plan/pipeline configuration changes, troubleshooting assistance, or system/service maintenance/restoration
Troubleshooting and remediate issues across build, packaging, and deployment failures
Serve as a member of an on-call rotation
Work productively as a remote employee
What You’ll Need:
U.S. citizenship or Green Card/permanent resident status
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field, or equivalent practical experience
5+ years of professional software engineering or DevOps/build engineering experience
Proficiency in Python for scripting and automation
Deep knowledge of encryption/PKI concepts (public/private key pairs, certificate authorities, hashing/signing algorithms) as they relate to code signing
Experience writing Groovy for Jenkins pipeline development (Jenkinsfiles, shared libraries)
Proven capabilities operating, administering, and troubleshooting CI/CD platforms (e.g. Jenkins, GitLab)
Experience with containerization (Docker, Kubernetes)
Experience with configuration tools such as Ansible, Chef, and or Salt
Experience automating virtualization environments (e.g. VMWare)
Familiarity with public cloud APIs (e.g. AWS, GCP, Azure)
Familiarity with build/release engineering and software development lifecycles
Ability to work collaboratively with development teams to support and improve build/release processes
Collaborate effectively with global, cross-functional teams across multiple time zones.
Must exhibit meticulous attention to detail, and have the ability to make good, timely decisions.
Demonstrate self-learning capabilities and taking initiative in a fast pace/quickly changing environment.
Security mindset, general understanding of cybersecurity principles and how to work within its limits
Proven experience utilizing AI technologies to enhance decision-making, streamline workflows and processes, improve efficiency and drive business outcomes.

CrowdStrike, Inc. is committed to fair and equitable compensation practices. Placement within the pay range is dependent on a variety of factors including, but not limited to, relevant work experience, skills, certifications, job level, supervisory status, and location. The base salary range for this position for all U.S. candidates is $120,000 - $180,000 per year, with eligibility for bonuses, equity grants and a comprehensive benefits package that includes health insurance, 401k and paid time off.
