Short Description

Bowman has an opportunity for an Engineer II, Structural (Oil & Gas) to join our team in Houston, TX.

Purpose

This position will play a key role in our engineering team, contributing your extensive experience and technical expertise to projects in the energy industry. You will be responsible for overseeing the design, planning, and execution of complex civil engineering projects, ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations.

Responsibilities:
  • Perform building sizing and selection, alternative analyses, and other deliverables.
  • Support the engineering, design, procurement, construction, and commissioning of facilities.
  • Identify scope changes and estimate impact to effort and schedule.
  • Occasionally directed in several aspects of work.
  • Prepares, reviews, and approves foundation, structural steel, building, and earthwork calculations, requisitions, studies, reports, BOMs, and designs.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in structural engineering, civil engineering, or related field.
  • Three or more (3+) years of experience required.
  • Professional Engineer licensure or EIT preferred.
  • Excellent facilitation, communication, and analytical skills - written and verbal.
  • Advanced knowledge and experience in civil engineering principles and practices.
  • Proficiency in civil engineering software and tools.
  • Understanding of environmental and sustainability considerations.
  • Proficiency in geotechnical and structural engineering principles.
  • Advanced knowledge of industry codes, regulations, and best practices.
  • High level of personal integrity.
  • Strong relationship capabilities.
  • Proficient in both written and spoken English.


Physical Demands and Working Environment

  • Primarily indoor professional office environment which may include bright/dim light, noise, fumes, odors, and traffic.
  • Mobility around an office environment.
  • Frequent and prolonged use of standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.
  • Occasionally outdoor work environment which may include adverse weather conditions, varying temperatures, excessive noise, and/or potential hazards.
  • Mobility around a job/construction site to include walking, bending, crawling, climbing, squatting, or kneeling and wearing of required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
  • Occasional lifting or carrying up to 20 pounds.
