Join our Environmental Services team as an Engineer II or III, where you'll play a key role in supporting critical infrastructure projects, maintaining regulatory compliance, and advancing sustainable operations across a diverse energy portfolio. As an Engineer III, you will take on a senior technical role-guiding complex initiatives, leading compliance efforts, and driving engineering excellence across a wide range of generation and infrastructure projects.
This role reports to Manager Environmental I, Environmental Services.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and support engineering plans and specifications that incorporate environmental and regulatory requirements such as setbacks, buffers, grading, and design volumes.
- Assist in the development, revision, and renewal of environmental compliance plans, including SPCC and stormwater pollution prevention plans.
- Prepare and submit regulatory reports to state and federal agencies, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
- Analyze and interpret environmental and operational data, identifying trends and supporting decision-making.
- Support permitting activities and project development, including preparing applications and coordinating approvals.
- Collaborate on construction and environmental projects, such as coal combustion residual landfill expansions and closure, air and water monitoring systems, and compliance upgrades.
- Evaluate environmental impacts on project cost, schedule, and constructability.
- Maintain working knowledge of environmental regulations and emerging policies, supporting compliance strategies.
- Communicate technical information clearly to internal teams, leadership, and regulatory agencies.
Qualifications- Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Civil, Environmental, Chemical, or related field).
- Approximately 2-5+ years of relevant experience in engineering or environmental services.
- Foundational knowledge of environmental regulations, permitting, and compliance.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret technical data.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks, prioritize work, and meet deadlines.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills across diverse audiences.
- Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification or progress toward Professional Engineer (PE) licensure preferred.

- The expected offer for base compensation for this role is $84,000 - $127,000 annually. The actual compensation within the compensation range will vary based on factors relevant to the position.
