Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems is looking to add an Electronics Engineer – Communications to join our team in Rancho Bernardo, CA. The candidate should be a self-starter with familiarity working in an Integrated Product Team construct.
The Electronics Engineer- communications will provide engineering support for a communications payload/subsystem on a development contract. Work within an Integrated Product Team and report to the subsystem technical lead.
Key responsibilities
Support decomposition of system and stakeholder requirements into measurable verification tasks and basic interface needs.
Assist with integration and verification activities in the lab (functional tests, link checks, basic environmental verification) and document test procedures and results.
Support troubleshooting and corrective actions during test events and integration activities.
Coordinate with suppliers and internal teams to gather technical data and support component evaluations.
Report subsystem status and raise risks/issues to the technical lead.
Basic qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics) discipline and 2 years of related engineering experience; OR a Master’s degree in a STEM discipline and 0 years of related engineering experience.
Familiarity with communications systems integration or a strong interest to learn (academic projects, internships, or hands-on labs acceptable).
Experience using or exposure to RF/test equipment (oscilloscope, spectrum analyzer, network analyzer, power meter) preferred.
Demonstrated technical problem-solving and basic documentation skills.
Must have an active US Government Top-Secret Clearance (with a background investigation within the past 6 years or enrolled into Continuous Evaluation).
Ability to obtain and maintain US Government SCI clearance
Must have the ability to obtain and maintain Special Access Program (SAP) clearance, within a reasonable amount of time as determined by business needs.
Preferred qualifications
Current applicable Special Access Program (SAP) clearance.
Active USG Top Secret SCI clearance (with a background investigation within the past 5 years or enrolled into Continuous Evaluation).
Internship or co-op experience in communications, RF, or test labs.
Basic scripting or data-analysis skills (Python, MATLAB, or similar).
Familiarity with common interface standards (Ethernet, serial protocols) or coursework in communications systems.

Primary Level Salary Range: $91,800.00 - $137,600.00
The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.
Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
