  • Support the development and calibration of powertrain and drive systems for electric trucks and SUVs
  • Coordinate integration activities across teams and suppliers, aligning on requirements and timelines
  • Lead calibration topics for torque delivery, efficiency, and drivability under various conditions
  • Own the development of Scout-specific drive functions from initial concept through series release
  • Define and manage function bring-up with software suppliers
  • Develop and execute test cases for Drive system functions across testing platforms
  • Coordinate software release readiness, ensuring coverage and compliance with program milestones
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams for integrated powertrain solutions

What you'll do

Your engineering ingenuity, wonder & magic in coming up with a powertrain that supports the concepts will be instrumental in shaping the perception of Scout as a brand, as well as gaining peer admiration in the automotive industry.

Become part of an iconic brand that is set to revolutionize the electric pick-up truck & rugged SUV marketplace by achieving the following:
  • Support the development, integration, and calibration of the powertrain and drive systems for Scout pick-up trucks and SUVs (BEV / EREV)
  • Coordinate Drive system function integration activities across internal teams and suppliers, including alignment on requirements, calibration strategy, software maturity, validation status, and release timelines
  • Lead and contribute to inverter-related calibration topics such as torque delivery, efficiency, thermal behavior, diagnostics, and overall drivability across operating conditions
  • Own the development and calibration of Scout-specific Drive functions, from concept to series release, ensuring a robust and authentic off-road driving experience
  • Define and manage the function bring-up together with our software supplier, including the onsite support at the supplier for the commissioning for the functions
  • Develop and execute test cases for Drive system functions across SiL, HiL, testbench, and vehicle testing, including data analysis, documentation, and validation sign-off
  • Coordinate software release readiness, ensuring requirement coverage, calibration completeness, and validation compliance with program milestones
  • Work closely with powertrain hardware, chassis, vehicle dynamics, systems engineering, and E/E teams to align on technical solutions
  • Support prototype and vehicle testing activities, including calibration drives, off-road testing, data collection, analysis, and technical reporting
  • Collaborate effectively in a cross-functional and global environment to deliver integrated, high-quality powertrain and Off-Road solutions

Location & Travel Expectations:
  • This role will be based out of the Scout Motors location in Novi, Michigan. .
  • This role requires 4-5 days per week in the office, with regular in-person meetings and events.
  • Applicants should expect that the role will require the ability to convene with Scout colleagues in person and travel to participate in events on behalf of the company from time to time.

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, Automotive Engineering, or a related technical field
  • 4+ years of experience in powertrain or drive system development, calibration, and validation within concept or serial vehicle programs, preferably for electric or electrified vehicles (BEV / EREV)
  • Hands-on experience with function and integration coordination
  • Proven experience in function development across the V-model, including requirement definition, interface coordination, test case development, validation, and software release activities
  • Experience developing, integrating, and validating Drive system functions, such as on-road and offroad functions
  • Practical experience with calibration and validation on testbenches and vehicles, including calibration test trips, structured data analysis, and technical documentation
  • Familiarity with calibration and development tools such as ETAS INCA, MATLAB/Simulink, and data analysis environments
  • Ability to read and understand Simulink models and C-based source code to support calibration, debugging, and functional discussions
  • Experience working with cross-functional teams and suppliers, coordinating technical topics, timelines, and deliverables in a global development environment
  • Highly motivated, hands-on engineer with strong ownership, analytical thinking, problem-solving skills, and a passion for electric vehicles and off-road capability

Pay Transparency

This is a full-time, exempt position eligible to receive a base salary and to participate in an annual performance bonus program. Final salary offered will be determined based on factors including but not limited to the candidate's skills and experience. The annual performance bonus program is preset and not candidate dependent.

Initial base salary range = $110,000.00 - $135,000.00
