Full Job Description
The essential job responsibilities of the Engineer are to apply established engineering principle to the planning/design of additions/alterations to communication/transmission systems, electric substations, water production facilities and various civil engineering projects, DEPENDING ON AREA OF WORK CONCENTRATION.
The essential job responsibilities of the Engineer 3 are to apply engineering principles to power and substation structural design and perform other related engineering functions.
Qualifications - External
Qualification Requirements:
To perform the Transmission Design Engineer 3 role, you must:
- Have a Bachelor's degree in Civil or Mechanical Engineering (Civil Preferred)
- Successfully complete NIMS Training within one year of entering job
- Experience will vary according to departmental needs.
- Have an occupationally significant combination of job knowledge; organizational ability; ability to apply engineering principles/methods to transmission structural design/construction; ability to formulate and implement programs and policies; and oral/written communication skills.
- Have 4 years' experience
- Have a valid driver's license from state of residence
If there are no qualified bidders for Engineer 3, bidders will be considered for Engineer 2. If there are no qualified bidders for Engineer 2, bidders will be considered for Engineer 1.
Physical Working Conditions:
Works inside and outside under good conditions. Subject to construction hazards and conditions while making field inspections.
