Job DescriptionA BAE Systems Software Engineer designs, develops, tests, deploys, documents, maintains, and enhances complex and diverse software systems based upon documented requirements. These systems might include, but are not limited to, processing intensive analytics, algorithm development, real-time systems, Electronic Warfare Systems, and application and systems development and monitoring. Works individually or as part of a team. Reviews and tests software components for adherence to the design requirements and documents test results. Resolves software problem reports. Utilizes software development and software design methodologies appropriate to the development environment.

Required Skills and Education- Bachelor's Degree (or higher) in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related field and a minimum of 4+ years work experience.
- Software development experience using languages such as C++, C#, C, Python, Ruby, Perl, JavaScript.
- Has experience with Agile Development
- Has experience developing and executing test procedures for software components.
- Has experience developing software solutions by analyzing system performance standards and conferring with users or system engineers.
- Has experience with source code control systems, such as Git.
- Has experience with standard tools ie JIRA, Confluence, and Bitbucket
- Currently has a full active Secret clearance (or higher)
- Please note that pursuant to government contracts, these positions require US citizenship status.
- Because of the need for consistent, in-person collaboration and/or the requirement to perform all work onsite due to the nature of these particular roles, work will be performed full-time on site. This means work will be conducted on location at a BAE Systems facility 100% of the time. Hybrid opportunities may be available.
Preferred Skills and Education- Has experience in Electronic Warfare, RADAR, Communications or Navigation systems
- Has experience with DevSecOps
- Has experience with Containers including Docker or Kubernetes.
- Serve as team lead at the level appropriate to the software development process being used on any particular project.
- Experience in development of software testing automation (JSON, Java, GoogleTest, Shell scripts, etc... as examples of possible scripting experience)
- Deployment of software releases on operational systems
- Experience with Real-time Embedded Software Development
- Experience developing on Windows/Unix/Linux Operating Systems
