Full Job Description
Because this role involves a combination of collaborative/in-person and independent work, it will take the form of a hybrid work format, with time split between working onsite and remotely. BAE Systems Countermeasures & Electromagnetic Attack (CEMA) Solutions business area in Merrimack, NH is seeking a Missile Warning System (MWS) Chief Engineer (CE) to join our Engineering team within the Integrated Survivability Solutions (ISS) product line. As an industry leader in EO/IR and RF technologies, we provide next-generation threat detection and countermeasure solutions to provide unparalleled electronic warfare capabilities to enhance mission survivability. In this role, the MWS Chief Engineer will serve as a system architect, the owner of technical solutions, and a technical interface to Program, Engineering, and Functional leadership. They will contribute to the technical direction of our MWS product line, ensuring the systems, products and services being developed and delivered are supporting the business strategic objectives, viable, fit for purpose, and will satisfy the customer's mission and requirements. Specific job responsibilities include, but are not limited to: - Collaborate with internal engineering leadership to contribute to the technical strategy and direction of the MWS portfolio. - Work with the product line technical director to develop technical roadmaps and guide internal investments and capability development to position the portfolio for future growth. - Develop trusted customer relationships that enable opportunities to shape and influence customer requirements, requests for information (RFIs) and requests for proposal (RFPs). - Participate as a key contributor to proposal activities: leading system architecture and overall technical solution definition. - Prepare and deliver technical presentations to customers and internal stakeholders. - Collaborate with Sr program chief engineers within the portfolio to ensure program execution - Research, analyze, and evaluate emerging technologies and tools. - Lead system architecture design and optimization activities, trade studies and analyses. This position will be posted for at least 5 calendar days. The posting will remain active until the position is filled, or a qualified pool of candidates is identified. Required Skills and Education - Bachelor's degree and Minimum 8 years' work experience in a technical field such as Engineering, Mathematics, or Computer Science including technical leadership experience and capabilities relevant to the business - Requires qualified candidates to hold an active Secret security clearance - Develops information which extends knowledge in applicable product areas and may form the basis of newly developed concepts, theories and products. - Works under consultative direction to uncover and resolve issues associated with the development and implementation of operational programs. - Experience with project estimation, schedule & resource planning, project execution & tracking and earned value management - Experience with multiple phases of program execution from proposal to sustainment - Experience interacting with senior management and customers and contributing to cross functional teams Preferred Skills and Education - Proven ability to work in large teams with a self-starting approach. - Experience in managing scope in dynamic environments with shifting priorities - Strong written and verbal communication skills - Ability to form a vision and implement action plans to achieve that vision - Proven ability to share and transfer technology across organizational boundaries to the benefit of our customers and business
