Full Job Description
We strongly prefer candidates who are able to work from an office and welcome applicants based in New York, Chicago, Washington, DC and Houston. We also welcome applicants from candidates seeking a remote working arrangement.

Role Level:

We are hiring at both the Consultant and Senior Consultant levels for this opportunity. Candidates will be considered for the level that best aligns with their experience, skills and capabilities. The responsibilities and expectations calibrated accordingly.

Key Attributes:

As a Consultant or Senior Consultant, you'll be an accomplished and effective member of the Teneo Management Consulting team, playing an important role in delivering high-quality client work and contributing to development of the wider team.

You will bring strong analytical, problem-solving and communication skills, alongside a genuine interest in the energy and infrastructure sectors. You will work closely with senior colleagues and clients to tackle complex strategic questions, taking ownership of defined areas of work and translating rigorous analysis into clear, practical recommendations.

The role will serve leading companies and investors across energy and infrastructure on issues surrounding policy, technology and innovation, growth and financial strategy, with a particular focus on sustainability, decarbonisation and the energy transition. Typical clients include US and global utilities, independent power producers, renewable energy, energy storage and EV infrastructure businesses, equipment manufacturers, private equity firms, pension funds and other infrastructure investors.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Take ownership of defined areas of client engagements, conducting rigorous qualitative and quantitative analysis and translating findings into clear insights and recommendations.
  • Contribute to developing the project "answer" from initial hypotheses through refinement and validation with the wider case team.
  • Produce clear, concise and compelling presentations and other client deliverables, ensuring work is accurate and supported by robust evidence.
  • Participate confidently in client meetings and presentations and build effective day-to-day relationships with client counterparts.
  • Support more junior colleagues, providing guidance and constructive feedback where appropriate.
  • Contribute to business development and firm-building activities, including proposals, pitches and thought leadership.
  • Collaborate effectively with colleagues across the Energy & Infrastructure team, Management Consulting and Teneo's broader advisory platform.
  • Work effectively from office, remote and client-site locations. Some travel maybe required.

Basic Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent in a relevant discipline, such as finance, engineering, economics, business or another quantitative field.
  • 3+ years of relevant professional experience, ideally within strategy or management consulting, or a relevant energy or infrastructure environment.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to structure complex questions and use quantitative and qualitative analysis to develop insights.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with experience producing high-quality presentations and client-facing materials.
  • Strong organisational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage priorities and deliver high-quality work in a fast-paced environment.
  • An intellectually curious, proactive and collaborative approach, with the ability to build credible working relationships with colleagues and clients.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience or demonstrated knowledge of the energy, infrastructure or utilities sectors, particularly energy transition, decarbonisation and sustainability.
  • Understanding of the commercial, regulatory, policy and technological factors shaping energy and infrastructure markets.
  • Exposure to strategic topics such as growth strategy, market assessment, investment strategy, technology and innovation, policy and regulation, or commercial due diligence.
  • Experience working with energy and infrastructure companies or investors, including private equity, infrastructure funds, pension funds or other institutional investors.
  • Financial and commercial analysis experience, including financial modelling or investment analysis.
  • Experience contributing to business development, including proposals, pitches or thought leadership.
