OverviewAbout Strategic Energy Management (SEM)
Strategic Energy Management (SEM) helps organizations build energy management into everyday operations through data-driven analysis, employee engagement, operational improvement, and continuous coaching.
Why Strategic Energy Management?
Strategic Energy Management (SEM) sits at the center of one of the most significant transformations in the energy industry. Across North America, electricity demand is increasing at a pace not seen in decades, driven by the growth of artificial intelligence, data centers, advanced manufacturing, electrification, domestic industrial investment, and expanding digital infrastructure. At the same time, utilities and grid operators are managing a rapidly evolving generation portfolio that includes traditional resources, renewables, energy storage, distributed energy resources, and emerging technologies.
At TRC, SEM professionals are helping customers prepare for a future defined by growing energy demand, evolving technologies, changing market conditions, and increasing operational complexity. Whether supporting advanced manufacturing facilities, large commercial operations, or utility programs, your work will contribute to stronger business performance, improved resiliency, and smarter energy management practices. As utilities continue expanding their investment in demand-side management and energy optimization programs, SEM offers a unique opportunity to build skills that will remain highly valuable across the energy, consulting, operations, and technology sectors for years to come.
