Program Overview
GDIT delivers critical all‑source intelligence on foreign military and civilian cyber actors, their supporting infrastructure, and the broader ecosystems in which these capabilities operate. This intelligence directly supports foundational military intelligence (FMI) requirements for the joint force and ensures alignment with the mission portfolios.
On this program, GDIT provides a broad range of analytic and mission‑enabling support to produce operationally relevant FMI and scientific and technical intelligence (S&TI) for cyberspace operations. Our support is not limited to analysis; we engage across the entire intelligence cycle—planning, collection, processing, exploitation, production, and dissemination—while also executing integrated mission management functions.
All support is focused on enhancing the customers’ ability to enable both defensive and offensive cyberspace operations.
Position Overview
The Energy Analyst provides all‑source intelligence analysis and collection in support of the Infrastructures and Resources Analysis Program (IRAP). This role assembles and evaluates relevant information, data, and knowledge from multiple intelligence disciplines to produce assessments on foreign military and civilian energy infrastructures, supply chains, systems, and resources.
The analyst conducts research, develops specialized knowledge bases, and delivers analytic reporting on energy‑related industries, production systems, and critical infrastructure networks. Work includes evaluating energy facilities, installations, networks, and resources to determine capabilities, vulnerabilities, interdependencies, and strategic implications. The Energy Analyst also maintains and updates infrastructure and resource databases to inform customers of foreign capabilities, intentions, and operational networks.
Requirements
• Provide all‑source intelligence analysis and collection, assembling all available information, data, and knowledge from multiple intelligence disciplines for IRAP.
• Conduct all‑source research, knowledge‑base development, and analytic reporting on military and civilian infrastructures, supply chains, systems, and energy‑related resources.
• Perform analysis on energy‑related infrastructure systems, including:
• Energy infrastructures, systems, resources, facilities, installations, networks, and equipment.
• Electric power, oil and gas production/generation, transmission, and distribution systems, including associated reserves.
• Industrial facilities supporting significant foreign defense industry production and strategic operations.
• Additional energy‑related topics as required by the Government.
• Research and analyze all‑source data to produce intelligence reports that inform customers of foreign resources, capabilities, intentions, and networks.
• Organize and display analytic findings using charts, timelines, and graphs as appropriate.
• Obtain data from government and commercial sources when required, verifying accuracy through quality‑control checks.
• Analyze functional and logical energy infrastructure networks and systems to identify vulnerabilities, weaknesses, interdependencies, and resource allocations.
• Build network depictions and integrate data across the energy‑infrastructure enterprise to highlight system linkages and dependencies.
• Research all relevant information and intelligence sources to identify key characteristics and capabilities associated with military and civilian energy infrastructures.
• Develop or update specialized knowledge bases containing capabilities, system characteristics, and resource information specific to energy‑related infrastructures.
• Research, review, update, and maintain records and database holdings to ensure current and accurate documentation of military and civilian energy infrastructure characteristics and capabilities.
