Department: Industrial and Systems Engineering Salary: Commensurate with Experience

The Department of Industrial and Systems Engineering (ISE) at the University of Houston invites applications for two Endowed Professorship positions, both at the rank of Full Professor, to begin in Fall 2027. We seek outstanding candidates with strong methodological foundations in one or more areas relevant to industrial and systems engineering, including operations research, manufacturing, machine learning, quantum computing, and quantum materials, with innovative applications in energy, healthcare, or complex systems.
Qualifications: Applicants must hold an earned Ph.D. in industrial engineering or a closely related field. Candidates must have distinguished records of research, teaching, mentorship, and leadership commensurate with appointment at the rank of full professor, including sustained records of high-impact peer-reviewed scholarship and competitive external funding. Successful candidates will be expected to maintain vigorous research programs, foster nationally recognized cross-disciplinary collaborations, mentor students and junior faculty, and contribute to teaching innovation.
The Department: The ISE Department has 24 full-time faculty members and approximately 900 students enrolled in bachelor's, master's, and doctoral degree programs. The department is experiencing rapid growth in both research activity and student enrollment. Faculty members have opportunities to collaborate with colleagues across the university and in the Houston community in areas including supply chain, logistics, transportation, energy, power systems, resilience, smart cities, sustainability, and manufacturing.
