Description
What You Will Do: The successful candidate will be willing and able to:
- Performing comprehensive endodontic evaluations, diagnosing diseases and conditions affecting the dental pulp and periapical tissues, and developing appropriate treatment plans.
- Providing specialty endodontic services, including root canal therapy, endodontic retreatment, management of dental trauma, apexification procedures, and related surgical and non-surgical endodontic treatments.
- Collaborating with general dentists and other healthcare providers to coordinate patient care and ensure timely access to specialty services.
- Educating patients on diagnoses, treatment options, post-treatment care, and strategies to maintain optimal oral health.
- Documenting patient encounters, treatment plans, procedures, and outcomes accurately and in a timely manner within the electronic health record (EHR) system.
- Communicating effectively with dentists, dental hygienists, dental assistants, and support staff regarding patient care plans and treatment recommendations.
- Providing clinical oversight and guidance to dental assistants and other clinical support staff involved in specialty dental services.
- Participating in quality improvement initiatives, peer review activities, and compliance programs designed to support clinical excellence and regulatory compliance.
- Supporting the mission of the health center by providing compassionate, culturally competent, and patient-centered care to underserved and vulnerable populations.
- Maintain regular communication with the Chief Dental Officer regarding endodontic service needs, referral trends, patient access concerns, clinical challenges, and any issues that may affect the delivery of specialty care.
- Report significant clinical concerns, patient safety events, equipment needs, operational barriers, and opportunities for program improvement to the Chief Dental Officer in a timely manner.

Eligibility: Benefits are available to employees working
30+ hours per week, effective the first of the month following 30 days of employment.
Compensation Disclosure: $190,000 - $250,000The compensation range listed reflects Elica's good-faith estimate of the anticipated hiring range for this position in accordance with California pay transparency requirements. Final compensation will be determined based on job-related factors, including relevant experience, education, certifications, skills, and qualification.
Language Skills (Preferred):Bilingual or multilingual communication skills in English and
Russian, Farsi, Pashto/Pushto, or Spanish are preferred to support the needs of the communities we serve, where more than 50% of patients report a primary language other than English.
Requirements
- Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) or Doctor of Dental Medicine (DMD) degree
- Completion of a CODA-accredited Endodontics residency program.
- Board Certified by the American Board of Endodontics (ABE)
- Current, unrestricted license to practice dentistry in the State of California.
- Current DEA registration and Controlled Substance Utilization Review and Evaluation System (CURES) registration, as required.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- At least 2 years of experience working with underserved, low-income persons or homeless persons preferred.
- Demonstrated commitment to serving medically underserved and culturally diverse populations.
- Excellent clinical, communication, and interpersonal skills.
Additional Requirements
- Must have a current and valid California driver's license and the ability to provide proof of personal auto insurance on the vehicle driven during working hours.

The work environment is characteristic of a dental clinic environment. The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to sit; use hands to handle or feel. The employee is also required to stand; walk; and reach with hands and arms. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 20 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, and the ability to adjust focus. The employee must also possess hearing and speech to communicate in person and over the phone. The noise level in the work environment is usually quiet.
