Full Job Description

The Los Angeles office of Kaufman Dolowich, a full-service National Law firm with more than 250 attorneys across 16 offices and over 25 practice areas, is actively seeking an Employment Partner to join their Labor & Employment practice group.

This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated attorney with a strong background in labor and employment defense litigation to step into a leadership role within a nationally recognized firm. The ideal candidate will bring strategic litigation experience, strong leadership and mentoring capabilities, and a commitment to exceptional client service. Portable business will be considered but is not required.

 

Responsibilities

  • Handle all aspects of labor and employment defense litigation from inception through resolution
  • Manage and supervise multiple attorneys and legal staff within a collaborative team environment
  • Defend employers in a broad range of employment matters, including:
    • Wage and hour disputes
    • Single-plaintiff and class/collective actions
    • Discrimination, harassment, retaliation, and wrongful termination claims
  • Conduct and oversee appearances in both Federal and State courts
  • Represent clients in investigations and proceedings before the:
    • U.S. Department of Labor
    • EEOC
    • State and local human rights agencies
  • Provide strategic counseling and risk management advice to clients on employment-related matters
  • Build and maintain strong client relationships while contributing to the continued growth of the practice group

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 10 years of employment litigation defense experience
  • Significant experience handling wage and hour matters and employment class actions
  • Demonstrated leadership, supervisory, and management experience
  • Strong litigation, analytical, and communication skills
  • Experience managing complex employment matters in both Federal and State courts
  • Admission to practice in California required
  • Portable business is welcomed but not required

Base Salary Range: $200k -$300k

Actual compensation will be determined based on market location, as well as the candidate’s experience, skills, and job-related qualifications.
