- Flexible base salary with 23% production, no negative accrual (after mentorship period)

Collaboration with Specialized Centers: Our Emergency Veterinarians have the unique opportunity to collaborate with our onsite Criticalist and Surgeon, as well as multiple specialists located just an hour away in Richmond. This collaborative partnership allows for seamless access to specialized services and consultations, enriching our ability to provide comprehensive care for complex cases. Working closely with specialists in areas such as Surgery, Internal Medicine, Medical Oncology, Radiology, Anesthesiology, Dermatology, and Dentistry, our emergency department contributes to a multidisciplinary approach to patient care, ensuring the best possible outcomes for our patients.

The Ethos ER Immerse Training Program The ER Immerse Program will prepare veterinarians for a sustainable and satisfying career in emergency medicine. Built from the ground up to be different than traditional rotating internship programs, the ERi program has been developed around a curriculum of core competencies essential for an emergency veterinarian. In addition to providing training around clinical knowledge and skills, the program also includes a focus on client and team member communication, professional skills, and life/work integration.
The ER Immerse program utilizes a hybrid training approach incorporating simulation-based didactic components into authentic training experiences with live patients. The curriculum is designed using an evidence-based strategy identifying competencies and skills deemed essential for a successful career as an emergency clinician.

Program Duration/Commitment - 6-month training program beginning June or July 2027
- 2-year commitment as an ER clinician at VVC following training
Location - Home Hospital (Start here at month 7 of program): Virginia Veterinary Centers: 1301 Central Park Boulevard, Fredericksburg, VA 22401
- Training Hospital (6 months): Dogs & Cats Emergency & Specialty 6700 Laurel-Bowie Rd, Bowie, MD 20715
Program Highlights - Rotate with specialty services during the training program
- Surgical training required
- Always work with a dedicated mentor on shifts

- Competency-based curriculum that includes asynchronous learning on Vetbloom and weekly live virtual didactic rounds
- Regular live continuing education events led by specialists and experienced emergency doctors
