Full Job Description
Emergency Medicine Specialist to practice at the Red Deer Regional Hospital Centre (RDRHC) Emergency Room. The department has a great mix of acuity with a supportive community of medical doctors, healthcare staff, and local consultant support for most specialties. The successful candidate is expected to fulfil the clinical patient-care and administrative duties of this role.
On January 16, 2023, CPSA launched a 5-year pilot project to condense the Practice Readiness Assessment process for IMGs with training comparable to that obtained in Canadian universities, as identified by experts in postgraduate medical training. The goal of the pilot is to evaluate whether certain IMGs may begin independently practising in their identified communities faster, while still ensuring patient safety is the top priority. Please find more information here: Route to registration for IMGs trained in approved jurisdictions - College of Physicians & Surgeons of Alberta | CPSA
