About the Role: As part of the Software Engineering team, the
Embedded Software Engineer develops and verifies embedded software that powers magniX electric propulsion, motor control, and battery energy storage systems. This role spans the full software lifecycle, from requirements definition and software architecture through implementation, integration, verification, certification, and product release, helping deliver reliable, high-performance, and safety-critical solutions.
The successful candidate will work closely with other software engineers and also systems, hardware, test, safety, and certification engineers to develop next-generation electrified power systems. In this role, you will solve challenging technical problems related to energy storage, power conversion, motor control, system monitoring, communications, and real-time embedded control while contributing to products deployed in demanding real-world applications. You will collaborate with experienced multidisciplinary teams, influence software architecture and engineering processes, and see your work progress from concept and design through verification, certification, and deployment. The ideal candidate is passionate about embedded systems, enjoys working across engineering disciplines, and is motivated by solving complex technical challenges in advanced electrification technologies.
Primary Responsibilities- Contribute to the definition and refinement of software plans, processes, and schedules, ensuring adherence throughout the project lifecycle.
- Define and review software high-level requirements and support system and software architecture definition and review.
- Design and review software low-level requirements using model-based and textual approaches.
- Develop and review C/C++ and assembly source code to product coding standards, accounting for throughput and memory margin.
- Support software build, integration, and release activities, and collaborate with hardware and systems teams on integration and overall product performance.
- Develop, review, and execute test cases and procedures for software verification and integration, documenting results and any deviations.
- Develop and maintain automated test scripts and set up verification tools and test environments, including Software-in-the-loop (SIL) and hardware-in-the-loop (HIL).
- Maintain software configuration management, change control, and end-to-end traceability of software artifacts throughout the development lifecycle.
- Prepare technical documentation to support product certification, regulatory compliance, customer deliverables, and ongoing product support.
