Standard Job DescriptionThe WorkAs a Level 2 Software Engineer, you'll get hands-on experience across the software lifecycle while working alongside experienced engineers to build the next generation of mission computers for safety-critical avionics systems. You'll help turn ideas and requirements into reliable, flight-ready software and see your work move from development to integration, test, and certification.
You'll have the opportunity to:
- Design, develop, integrate, test, debug, and maintain embedded software - from device drivers and boot loaders to built-in-test (BIT) libraries.
- Analyze requirements and contribute to software designs that run on LynxOS, Windriver VxWorks, or Green Hills Integrity platforms.
- Troubleshoot technical issues and develop creative solutions.
- Work with software, systems, hardware, and test engineers to define and validate software-hardware interfaces for custom-designed hardware and FPGA.
- Apply software engineering tools, processes, and best practices.
- Support integration, verification, and validation activities in a lab environment.
- Produce technical documentation and software artifacts to support quality and safety certification.
- Learn new technologies and take on increasingly complex challenges.
- Bring fresh ideas that can improve products and processes.

Basic Qualifications- 3+ years related professional experience with an Associates degree in related field.
- Experience developing C code for embedded environments
- Familiar with developing and debugging software that controls embedded hardware, firmware, microcontrollers, or FPGAs.
- Experience with a real-time operating systems (RTOS) such as WindRiver VxWorks, GreenHills Integrity, LynxOS, FreeRTOS
- Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government security clearance to at least the Secret level.
Desired Skills-Bachelors degree in a STEM related field.
- Experience writing device drivers and boot loaders, targeting Intel and PowerPC processors
- Knowledge of hardware communication protocols such as PCIe, SPI, UART, and I2C
- Experience using instrumentation to analyze and debug systems (oscilloscope, logic analyzer, serial console)
- Experience creating and configuring embedded Linux images
- Familiar with full software life-cycle development, processes, version control, and tools to DO-178C guidelines
- Experience with Git/GitLab, SonarQube, Fortify, VectorCast, or Atlassian products
- Experience working in an Agile software development framework (e.g., Scrum).
- Experience with unit testing, and automated test environments.
Pay InformationFull-Time Salary Range: $81100.00 - $150500.00

Represented full time employees accrue 6.67 hours of Vacation per month; accrue up to 52 hours of sick leave annually; receive at least 96 hours for holidays. PTO, Vacation, sick leave, and holiday hours are prorated based on start date during the calendar year.
