Job Requirements
What You Will Do:
Perform MCU and custom board bring-up activities, including power sequencing, clock configuration, reset management, boot configuration, and peripheral initialization.
Develop, debug, and optimize embedded firmware in C/C++ on bare-metal and RTOS-based platforms.
Design, implement, and validate peripheral interfaces such as SPI, I8C, UART, USB, GPIO, PWM, and ADC.
Integrate and bring up sensors and peripherals, including IMUs, proximity sensors, touch controllers, and haptic devices.
Develop robust communication mechanisms between MCUs and Android XR application processors, including messaging protocols, interrupt handling, buffering, error management, and recovery workflows.
Collaborate closely with Android BSP, Kernel, and HAL teams to integrate MCU functionality into Android XR platforms.
Implement, optimize, and validate low-power features, including suspend/resume, wake-up events, watchdog handling, and fault recovery mechanisms.
Support sensor timestamping, synchronization, and latency analysis to meet XR performance requirements.
Troubleshoot hardware and firmware issues using JTAG/SWD debuggers, oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, and other lab equipment.
Develop and execute automated test frameworks for functional validation, performance analysis, reliability testing, and power consumption optimization.
Document bring-up procedures, integration requirements, test results, debugging findings, and root-cause analysis reports.
Work cross-functionally with hardware, firmware, Android, and system integration teams to support prototype development through production readiness.
Contribute to firmware architecture, bootloader enhancements, secure boot implementations, firmware update mechanisms, and recovery solutions.
Support the integration and optimization of XR/AR/VR, wearable, and sensor-hub technologies for next-generation Android XR products.

Strong ability to read and interpret hardware schematics, component datasheets, and interface specifications.
Familiarity with embedded Linux and Android architectures, including interactions between firmware, kernel drivers, BSPs, and HAL layers.
Experience using JTAG/SWD debuggers, oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, and other debugging tools for hardware and firmware troubleshooting.
Working knowledge of Python, Shell scripting, or similar tools for automation, validation, and test development.
Strong analytical, problem-solving, documentation, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
Experience integrating sensors and peripherals such as IMUs, proximity sensors, touch controllers, and haptic devices is highly desirable.
Understanding of low-power system design, power management, suspend/resume flows, watchdogs, and fault recovery mechanisms.
Experience with MCU-to-application processor communication, messaging frameworks, interrupt-driven architectures, and error recovery strategies is preferred.
Familiarity with Android debugging tools such as ADB, Android logs (logcat), Linux kernel logs, and system tracing tools is a plus.
Knowledge of bootloaders, secure boot, firmware update mechanisms, and recovery processes is advantageous.
Experience with XR/AR/VR devices, wearables, sensor hubs, or other low-power embedded products is highly preferred.
Exposure to sensor synchronization, timestamping, latency analysis, display/camera synchronization, and production-ready embedded system development is a plus.
Pay Range: $135,000 - $150,000 a year
Compensation decisions are made based on factors including experience, skills, education, and other job-related factors, in accordance with our internal pay structure. We also offer a comprehensive benefits package, including health insurance, paid time off, and retirement plan.
