National security moves at the speed of modern software and hardware integration. As an Electronics Technician Subject Matter Expert, you will be at the cutting edge of mission readiness-designing, developing, and fielding the advanced automated test systems and secure software solutions that ensure our combat platforms operate without fail.
In this pivotal role, you will bridge hardware engineering with agile DevSecOps to support Command, Control, Communications, and Battle Management (C3BM) Mission Planning and Execution. Your expertise directly equips the warfighter with rapid, lethal capabilities, compressing the kill chain and ensuring mission dominance in contested environments.
What You Will Accomplish:
As an authoritative technical expert, your influence spans the full lifecycle of combat test systems and mission-planning infrastructure. In this role, you will:
- Drive End-to-End System Lifecycle: Spearhead the preliminary design, technical specification, prototyping, repair, and full production approval for advanced Automatic Test Equipment (ATE) software and hardware products.
- Compress the Kill Chain: Directly deliver combat capability by architecting and deploying secure software solutions and modern DevSecOps pipelines in support of critical C3BM operations.
- Modernize Joint Mission Planning: Streamline data cartridge production and common utility development, integrating platform-specific and joint components smoothly into the Joint Mission Planning Environment (JMPE).
- Ensure Operational Superiority: Establish rigorous design criteria and performance benchmarks, maintaining technical ownership from initial engineering concepts to final service use and frontline deployment.
- Bridge Multi-Disciplinary Frontiers: Collaborate with military planners, defense contractors, software engineers, and hardware specialists to translate complex operational needs into rapid, deployable engineering solutions.
This Role Is For You If You Are:
- A Mission-First Technologist: You are driven by the knowledge that your technical precision and engineering rigor safeguard military personnel and safeguard national security.
- A Hardware/Software Bridge Builder: You understand how automated testing hardware interfaces with modern software architectures, data cartridge pipelines, and secure DevSecOps environments.
- A Lifecycle Owner: You take pride in seeing complex systems through from blank-slate design and testing to field approval, maintenance, and fleet modernization.
- An Innovative Problem Solver: You challenge legacy test approaches and actively look for ways to accelerate turnaround times, enhance automated testing accuracy, and eliminate technical debt.
- A Respected Subject Matter Expert: You communicate complex technical concepts with clarity, providing sound guidance to leadership, cross-functional teams, and joint defense partners.
Why Choose Our Team?
- When you bring your technical talents to defense civil service, you gain access to an unparalleled mission and exceptional public service benefits:
- Direct Strategic Impact: Work on advanced aerospace, defense, and C3BM technologies that cannot be found anywhere in the private sector.
-Competitive Pay & Retirement: Competitive base salary plus locality adjustments, Thrift Savings Plan (TSP) with up to 5% government matching, and the Federal Employees Retirement System (FERS) pension.
- Comprehensive Healthcare & Well-Being: Broad selection of federal health benefit (FEHB) plans, dental, vision, life insurance, and flexible spending accounts.
- Work-Life Balance & Stability: Paid federal holidays (11 per year), substantial annual and sick leave accrual, and flexible work schedules.
- Continuous Technical Advancement: Agency-sponsored training, security clearance sponsorship/maintenance, and leadership development programs.
