Full Job Description
JOB SUMMARY:
JHPS is seeking a Service Supervisor - Electronic Security Systems to lead both the service operations and technical oversight of the Johns Hopkins enterprise electronic security and Public Safety systems. This role serves as the primary operational and technical authority for service delivery, acting as the key liaison between Public Safety, IT/Network Engineering, Facilities, Project Management, clinical stakeholders, and external vendors. The Supervisor ensures all electronic security systems are reliable, secure, compliant, and aligned with organizational policy and campus security standards.Operating in a complex, mission-critical environment, this position combines hands-on technical leadership with staff supervision and service management, overseeing systems including enterprise access control, video management systems (VMS), intrusion detection, emergency communication/intercom systems, infant protection systems, duress/panic alarms, visitor management, and integrated security platforms.

QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Bachelor's Degree in information technology, computer science, or a related field (Required)
  • 1 Minimum 5 Years of Experience (Five (5)+ years of progressively responsible experience in electronic security systems (access control, CCTV/VMS, intrusion, low voltage, and experience supporting enterprise systems in healthcare, higher education, or large campus environments)
  • Low voltage/security installer license (if required by state regulations). Upon Hire (Required)
  • Ability to pass background checks as required by clients and policy. Upon Hire (Required)
  • Willingness to work off-hours/on-call or during planned maintenance windows as needed.
  • Navigate rapidly changing situations, from evolving patient needs to technological advancements, by remaining flexible, continuously learning, embracing new challenges, and quickly recovering from setbacks.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with an emphasis on confidentiality, tact, and diplomacy.

  • Makes independent day-to-day tactical decisions related to schedules and daily operations, including managing overtime; may make recommendations for solving problems of moderate complexity and
    importance.
  • Addresses problems that are varied, requiring analysis or interpretation of the situation using direct observation, general knowledge, and skills based on general precedents.
  • Possesses thorough knowledge of a field and comprehensive understanding of the reasons and rationale behind established policies and procedures in Information Technology.
  • Drives improvement in existing business processes.
  • Advanced proficiency and experience using Microsoft Office Package (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook).
