About the Role:

As an Electrical Test Engineer with Maverick Power, you will be working with our production, engineering, and testing teams to produce and test power distribution and control systems for industry leading customers all over the world. Your work will be exciting and varied working on projects which require knowledge of applications, electrical/electronics, mechanical, manufacturing, quality, and safety. Never a dull day, and always a challenging problem to solve in a collaborative, goal focused environment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Oversee test scripts for low and medium voltage switchgear, switchboards, panel boards, and control panels.
  • Evaluate drawings and specifications to develop test scripts that meet customer requirements.
  • Develop testing plans using the design and sequence of operations for power distribution and controls equipment for factory acceptance testing.
  • Support Maverick's manufacturing, testing, quality, and field service teams to ensure proper implementation of designs.
  • Configure or program devices such as PLCs, VFDs, protective relays, transfer switches, circuit breakers, and controllers.
  • Lead interaction with other functions and locations to determine optimum product/process solutions.
  • Additional responsibilities include but not limited to developing a training program for the custom low-voltage switchboards, switchgear, panelboards, and medium-voltage switchgear. Create work instructions for components and test equipment used during testing.
  • Performs other job-related duties as necessary or assigned.

Qualifications:
  • A bachelor's degree in electrical engineering and minimum of 2 yrs relevant experience.
  • Working knowledge of UL 891, UL 508A, IEEE/ANSI, and NEC/NFPA 70E standards.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Previous engineering experience with low and medium-voltage switchgear assemblies/systems and associated equipment is desirable.
  • Manufacturing experience regarding bills of material, drawing packages, work instructions, and testing plans is a plus

Physical Requirements:
  • Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Prolonged periods of standing in a warehouse environment
  • Must be able to lift up to twenty-five pounds at times.

Work Environment:
May work in various settings at the Maverick Power facilities, in offices, in multiple shops, and in commercial buildings. Maintaining the same position or posture while performing tasks and sitting for prolonged periods.
