Job Title: Mechanical & Electrical Engineering - Electrical Technician III
We are looking for a skilled and motivated EE Technician to join our hardware team, whose mission is to design, build, and validate next-generation prototypes for Meta's augmented and mixed reality platforms. We are specifically looking for a candidate with experience in electronic assembly who can work with a team of engineers developing cutting-edge wearable hardware. More broadly, the chosen candidate will work with a diverse and highly interdisciplinary team of researchers and engineers and will have access to cutting edge technology, resources, and testing facilities.
Responsibilities
Build, assemble, rework, and modify prototype PCBs and electronic assemblies including fine-pitch SMD (01005) and 0.35mm-pitch BGA components
Test and repair
Run a unit through a prescribed set of functional tests depending on reported defect, and report out findings
Strategically disassemble a unit, guided by SOPs, and perform a visual inspection of systems that might be related to the failure symptom
Perform component/module exchanges in an attempt to isolate the failure
Document the work performed on each unit in a thorough, consistent manner
Maintenance
Create and maintain test fixtures, wiring harnesses, and cable assemblies for prototype evaluation
Maintain lab equipment, manage component inventory, and ensure lab safety standards are upheld
