Electrical & Systems Engineer - Product Development

Tigé Boats | Abilene, Texas

What You'll Do
  • Design and develop electrical systems for premium watersports boats.
  • Create innovative solutions that improve performance, reliability, manufacturability, and customer experience.
  • Design and release production-ready components using SolidWorks.
  • Develop electrical systems including wiring harnesses, power distribution, lighting, pumps, sensors, actuators, and electronic controls.
  • Work closely with manufacturing, purchasing, quality, and suppliers to bring new products from concept through production.
  • Build, test, and validate prototypes while supporting on-water product testing.
  • Troubleshoot production and field issues while implementing long-term engineering solutions.
  • Ensure compliance with ABYC, USCG, and other applicable marine standards.
  • Continuously improve existing products through engineering analysis and customer feedback.

What We're Looking For - Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, or a related engineering discipline.
  • Strong proficiency with SolidWorks and engineering documentation.
  • Working knowledge of 12V/24V DC electrical systems.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work in a collaborative environment.
  • Self-motivated with a passion for designing exceptional products.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in the marine, automotive, powersports, RV, or heavy equipment industries.
  • Knowledge of CAN Bus, multiplex systems, embedded electronics, or marine electrical standards.
  • Experience with prototype development, product validation, and testing.
  • Understanding of manufacturing processes and Design for Manufacturing (DFM).
  • C/C++, Python, MATLAB/Simulink or similar experience a plus
