Full Job Description
Electrical Project Manager & Estimator G&G Electric | 85,000-125,000 + Benefits We're looking for someone who has done both: worked in the electrical trade on real job sites and run electrical projects from estimate to closeout. If you've done take-offs, built bids, read a one-line in the field, and owned a job budget and schedule, keep reading. This is not an entry-level PM role, and it's not a foreman role with a new title. You'll estimate our commercial and residential work, lead our commercial projects, and bring both field credibility and proven project management to every job. The Role You'll estimate both commercial and residential projects and primarily run our commercial ground-up projects, which make up the majority of our work. You'll report directly to our General Manager, a Master Electrician. Residential ground-up and service round out the rest of our business. What You'll Do Estimating • Perform take-offs and build estimates for commercial and residential projects • Prepare bids and proposals, including labor, material, equipment, and subcontractor pricing • Review plans, specs, and scope documents to identify inclusions, exclusions, and risks before bidding • Request and compare supplier and vendor quotes • Compare estimated vs. actual job costs to sharpen future bids Project Management • Turn awarded jobs into a clear execution plan: budgets, cost codes, schedules, and procurement • Lead commercial projects from kickoff to closeout • Coordinate with foremen, field crews, vendors, and general contractors • Manage scheduling, manpower planning, and material flow • Oversee RFIs, submittals, inspections, and code compliance • Track job costs and labor productivity to protect margin • Spot problems early and solve them before they hit the schedule or budget • Manage change orders with proper documentation and billing alignment • Support billing and closeout to keep cash flow on track • Keep clear communication with internal teams, GCs, and customers What We're Looking For • 3+ years managing commercial electrical projects, including budget, schedule, and job cost responsibility • Proven experience with electrical take-offs and estimating for both commercial and residential work • Hands-on electrical field experience on active job sites; an active Texas Journeyman or Master license is strongly preferred • Ability to read and interpret plans and specs (one-lines, panel schedules, site plans, etc.) • Comfort with estimating software and spreadsheets • Working knowledge of job cost control, labor productivity, and project scheduling • Experience working with general contractors on commercial ground-up projects • Ability to lead field teams and hold them accountable while earning their respect • Strong organization across multiple active bids and projects This Role Is Probably Not a Fit If • Your electrical background is primarily academic or design-side. An engineering degree is welcome, but it doesn't replace time in the field. • Your project management experience is outside electrical or construction trades • You're an electrician or foreman who hasn't yet owned estimates, budgets, schedules, and job costs • You're looking for a desk-only role. You'll be on job sites regularly. What You'll Get • 85,000-125,000 base, depending on experience and qualifications • Total compensation package valued at 107,000-150,000 • Company truck for work and commuting, with fuel card, insurance, and maintenance covered • $300/month company contribution toward health insurance • SIMPLE IRA with 3% match • 9 paid holidays, plus paid time off after 6 months • Company-provided computer or iPad and company apparel • Ongoing training and career development • A leadership role in a locally owned company investing in growth and better systems • A long-tenured, experienced team that supports each other
