Full Job Description
OVERVIEW

We are seeking an Electrical Maintenance Reliability Engineer who will report to the General Manager and be responsible for the coordination of activities related to the safe delivery of predictive and preventive electrical maintenance routines at Deer Lake Power.

RESPONSIBILITIES

The candidate will be responsible for the following:

- Coordinate electrical maintenance activities to ensure safe, reliable, and compliant operation of the system.

- Develop, improve, and optimize predictive maintenance tools and techniques.

- Analyze outputs from predictive and preventative maintenance activities and adjust maintenance strategies accordingly.

- Identify and implement design, process, and maintenance improvements to address recurring equipment issues.

- Provide technical guidance and day-to-day oversight of the electrical maintenance group, supported by a Chargehand.

- Plan and organize electrical maintenance schedules in coordination with the Maintenance and Operations leadership teams.

- Troubleshoot electrical and equipment issues as they arise, providing timely and practical solutions.

- Conduct root cause analysis of equipment failures and develops corrective action plans to prevent recurrence.

- Responsible for sound preventative and predictive electrical maintenance activities that maximize equipment reliability and ultimately enhance overall product quality.

- Participate in team problem solving activities that address issues.

QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS

The successful candidate must have:
• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, or a combination of engineering education and relevant electrical trade experience.
• Required to register with PEGNL as a Professional Engineer or Engineer-in-Training as experience allows.
• Experience with industrial power systems, generation facilities, or heavy industrial environments are considered an asset.
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
• Strong technical foundation with the ability to analyze electrical and equipment issues, troubleshoot problems, and learn effective solutions.
  • Able to work independently with minimal supervision.

• Experience working collaboratively with skilled trades and maintenance teams.
• Ability to collaborate effectively with operations, maintenance, and engineering stakeholders.
• Demonstrated commitment to safety, reliability, and continuous improvement.

The Successful Candidate will be required to submit a Certificate of Conduct from a local police agency or the RCMP before commencing employment.

This position will be located in Deer Lake, NL.
