Electrical Field Inspection & Testing Engineer

Location: Dallas, TX (Remote)

Join Kinectrics as an Electrical Inspection & Compliance Engineer supporting power generation, substations, and transmission systems across Texas. This role blends electrical inspections, regulatory compliance, and field testing/commissioning support across U.S. projects.

This is a remote position, for someone ideally located in Dallas/Ft. Worth or Houston, and open to heavy travel (50-60%), primarily within the state of TX.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform electrical inspections of renewable plants, substations, and transmission assets
  • Lead and execute compliance audits (ERCOT / Weather Emergency Preparedness / regulatory standards)
  • Identify non-compliance risks, equipment deficiencies, and improvement opportunities
  • Develop technical reports and track corrective actions
  • Support electrical testing & commissioning (cable testing, grounding, field diagnostics)
  • Coordinate multi-site field activities and collaborate with cross-functional teams
  • Interface with clients and stakeholders, providing clear project updates


Qualifications
  • Bachelor's in Electrical Engineering (or equivalent experience in power systems)
  • 7+ years in power generation, transmission, or substation environments
  • Strong knowledge of power system equipment, testing, and maintenance practices
  • Ability to read electrical drawings and technical documents
  • Excellent communication and reporting skills

Preferred
  • Experience with compliance inspections, audits, or NERC/ERCOT standards
  • Background in electrical testing, commissioning, or diagnostics


Location & Travel
  • Based in Texas
  • Travel required (regional & U.S., including overnight)
