Electrical Field Inspection & Testing Engineer
Location: Dallas, TX (Remote)
Join Kinectrics as an Electrical Inspection & Compliance Engineer supporting
power generation, substations, and transmission systems across Texas. This role blends
electrical inspections, regulatory compliance, and field testing/commissioning support across U.S. projects.
This is a remote position, for someone ideally located in Dallas/Ft. Worth or Houston, and open to heavy travel (50-60%), primarily within the state of TX.Key Responsibilities- Perform electrical inspections of renewable plants, substations, and transmission assets
- Lead and execute compliance audits (ERCOT / Weather Emergency Preparedness / regulatory standards)
- Identify non-compliance risks, equipment deficiencies, and improvement opportunities
- Develop technical reports and track corrective actions
- Support electrical testing & commissioning (cable testing, grounding, field diagnostics)
- Coordinate multi-site field activities and collaborate with cross-functional teams
- Interface with clients and stakeholders, providing clear project updates
Qualifications- Bachelor's in Electrical Engineering (or equivalent experience in power systems)
- 7+ years in power generation, transmission, or substation environments
- Strong knowledge of power system equipment, testing, and maintenance practices
- Ability to read electrical drawings and technical documents
- Excellent communication and reporting skills
Preferred- Experience with compliance inspections, audits, or NERC/ERCOT standards
- Background in electrical testing, commissioning, or diagnostics
Location & Travel- Based in Texas
- Travel required (regional & U.S., including overnight)
