OverviewDoota Industrial America is seeking a highly skilled
Electrical Estimator to support complex telecommunications and industrial projects. This role is responsible for developing accurate, competitive cost estimates and proposals that directly impact project awards and profitability.
You will partner closely with engineering, operations, and business development to translate technical requirements into executable and cost-effective bids. This is a high-visibility role requiring precision, commercial awareness, and the ability to manage multiple bids under tight deadlines.
Key Responsibilities- Analyze drawings, specifications, and RFPs to define full project scope
- Prepare detailed cost estimates for labor, materials, equipment, and subcontractors
- Develop and submit competitive bids and proposals aligned with company margin targets
- Perform quantity take-offs and validate pricing assumptions
- Solicit and evaluate vendor and subcontractor quotations
- Identify project risks, cost drivers, and value engineering opportunities
- Collaborate with engineering and project management to align estimates with execution strategy
- Participate in bid reviews, scope clarifications, and client discussions
- Maintain current pricing databases, historical cost data, and estimating tools
- Ensure all estimates comply with applicable codes, standards, and client requirements
- Support project handoff to operations, including scope alignment and budget validation
- Track awarded vs. estimated costs to improve future accuracy
Qualifications- 5-10+ years of electrical estimating experience (telecommunications, industrial, or construction environments preferred)
- Strong ability to interpret electrical drawings, specifications, and technical documentation
- Experience with estimating software (e.g., Accubid, Bluebeam, PlanSwift, or similar)
- Solid understanding of electrical systems, installations, and construction methodologies
- Proven track record of developing accurate, competitive bids
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and cost modeling
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to manage multiple bids and deadlines in a fast-paced environment
- Effective communication skills for cross-functional collaboration and vendor negotiations
- Knowledge of NEC, local codes, and industry standards
Preferred- Experience in telecommunications infrastructure, data centers, or industrial electrical systems
- Exposure to EPC/EPCM project environments
- Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, Construction Management, or related field
