Job DescriptionPURPOSE: Provide project management and technical guidance for Amcor in areas related to electrical safety, procedure and maintenance standardization, electrical engineering, and overall efficient operations.
RESPONSIBILITIES:2.1 Use caution and support facility's electrical infrastructure systems to reduce the risk of safety events.
2.2 Respond to any emergency or potential emergency following established procedures.
2.3 Observe, respond and report any instance of process or product non-conformity.
2.4 Security diligence: maintain control of key cards, prevent unauthorized entry to facilities by non-Amcor employees, and proper maintenance / security of Amcor equipment.
2.5 Successfully complete Primary Duties as outlined in 4.0 and associated training.
3.0 AUTHORITIES: 3.1 Pause activity and notify Safety lead in any facility regarding instances of potentially unsafe work environments or employee and supplier practices.
3.2 Initiate action to prevent occurrences of any non-conformity of product or quality systems.
3.3 Initiate, recommend or provide solutions through designated channels.
3.4 Suggest actions for continual improvement to products, processes, facilities or systems and verify the implementation of solutions.
4.0 PRIMARY DUTIES: Include tasks assigned by the Director - Corporate Plant Engineering, in addition to:
4.1 Oversee the Corporate Electrical Safety Program including arc flash compliance, electrical system risk, mitigation plans, and training programs. Establish and maintain communication channels to effectively implement and modify the corporate electrical safety program for use across the globe.
4.2 Lead the Arc Flash Programs in the US and Europe ensuring that 180+ sites are complaint with their updates, that site leaders understand the reports, complete recommendations, and utilize the update process to keep the documents current.
4.3 Maintain, review, and revise the "Corporate Facility Required" electrical PM program. Assist with planning and project management to ensure PM compliance.
4.4 Serve as technical leader and mentor related to electrical systems, energy management, and regulatory requirements for electrical systems.
4.5 Review site metrics and cost information to help prioritize and investigate improvement opportunities.
4.6 Establish guidelines related to plant electrical systems to ensure proper maintenance and safety standards are met. Develop and promote corporate best practices.
4.7 Evaluate plants when on site to ensure safe and efficient operations.
4.8 Specify, recommend, and review power systems studies to help our plants troubleshoot, specify, and improve electrical systems. Act as liaison between trusted suppliers and plants.
4.9 Evaluate existing facilities and expansion projects to establish scope of work and initial budgets for electrical system improvements.
5.0 QUALIFICATIONS / EDUCATION REQUIRED: 5.1 Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent experience.
5.2 Strong written and oral communication skills.
5.3 Proven ability to run complex programs or projects that span several sites simultaneously.
5.5 Knowledgeable in NFPA and IEEE electrical standards.
5.6 Ability to manage multiple projects and meet timelines.
5.7 At least 5 years of experience in electrical safety, power distribution engineering, or project management role.
5.8 Ability to travel as necessary. Up to 15% travel is expected.
