Requisition Summary

Peterbilt Motors Company is seeking a Siemens Capital Administrator to support the Electrical Engineering group responsible for designing and developing electrical systems, wiring harnesses, and distribution architectures for Class 5-8 commercial trucks. This role serves as the technical subject matter expert for the Siemens Capital toolchain, ensuring high-quality electrical designs. The administrator works closely with electrical engineers, harness designers, systems engineers, PACCAR ITD, and manufacturing teams to maintain a stable, efficient, and scalable electrical design environment.

Job Responsibilities

  • Administer, configure, and support upgrades and maintenance of the Siemens Capital suite (Logic, HarnessXC, Integrator, etc.). Monitor system performance, troubleshoot issues, and coordinate resolutions with Siemens and PACCAR ITD.
  • Maintain electrical component libraries, symbol libraries, connector databases, and wire/cable specifications. Ensure Capital data and workflows align with PTC Windchill PLM and engineering processes for accurate BOM generation and release.
  • Establish and enforce electrical design standards, naming conventions, templates, and drafting practices.
  • Provide technical support to engineers, harness designers, and systems engineers working on chassis, cab, powertrain, ADAS, telematics, BEV and autonomous systems.
  • Troubleshoot schematic capture, harness synthesis and manufacturing documentation issues. Serve as a liaison between engineering and Siemens technical support.
  • Support training and development for system users and create user guides, work instructions, and best-practice documentation tailored to truck electrical design.
  • Identify inefficiencies and opportunities to streamline electrical design workflows from concept through release.
  • Develop custom scripts, reports and automation utilities (Python, XML, Capital APIs) to reduce engineering cycle times and improve error-proofing and quality.
  • Improve integration between Capital and PLM systems, manufacturing systems, and service documentation.
  • Support new truck program launches with tool setup, project templates, and release readiness.
  • Participate in engineering change management and configuration control. Support expansion into new vehicle technologies and architectures.
  • Up to 10 % travel can be expected


Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or related field.
  • 3+ years administering electrical design software (Siemens Capital preferred).
  • Working knowledge of vehicle electrical systems, wiring harness design, and schematic development.
  • Experience with PLM systems (Windchill preferred) and CAD/PLM integrations.
  • Familiarity with SQL/Oracle databases and Windows Server environments.
  • Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication skills for supporting engineers with diverse technical backgrounds.
  • Strong customer-service mindset with an engineering support orientation.
  • Ability to balance daily support with long-term improvement initiatives.
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.
  • Comfortable in a fast-paced, program-driven environment.
  • Collaborative, self-motivated, and proactive with high levels of initiative.


Preferred Qualifications

  • Hands-on experience with Capital Logic, HarnessXC, Integrator, Project, Publisher, and Symbol.
  • Experience in commercial vehicle, automotive, or heavy equipment industries.
  • Knowledge of J1939, CAN, LIN, and other vehicle network protocols.
  • Familiarity with BEV high-voltage system design.
  • Scripting experience (Python, Perl, XML, Capital APIs).
  • Experience supporting harness manufacturing.
  • Prior experience within PACCAR or truck industry.
  • Hiring level to be commensurate with experience and skills.
