The Electrical Engineer will support automotive lighting and electronic product development, testing, and manufacturing engineering activities. This role offers hands-on experience in circuit and system design, embedded electronics, prototyping, validation testing, data analysis, and cross-functional engineering support in a manufacturing and R&D environment.
Responsibilities include:
- Support the electrical and electronic design and evaluation of automotive lighting products, control modules, LED drivers, power supplies, sensors, wiring interfaces, and related assemblies.
- Create and revise circuit schematics, electrical specifications, interface definitions, wiring diagrams, test requirements, and bills of material.
- Perform electrical engineering calculations and analysis involving power conversion, voltage and current requirements, component derating, thermal loading, tolerances, and circuit protection.
- Support component and technology selection for semiconductors, microcontrollers, LEDs, connectors, passive components, printed circuit boards, and automotive-qualified electronics.
- Assist with prototype builds, PCBA bring-up, bench testing, troubleshooting, firmware-hardware integration, and functional performance assessments.
- Plan validation testing, including electrical performance, transient immunity, ESD, EMC/EMI, thermal, environmental, durability, and abuse-condition evaluations as applicable.
- Use laboratory equipment such as oscilloscopes, power supplies, electronic loads, multimeters, function generators, data-acquisition systems, and automotive communication tools.
- Participate in design reviews, DFMEA activities, root-cause investigations, and failure analysis of product, circuit, component, or manufacturing issues.
- Work with suppliers and internal manufacturing teams on PCBA design, component availability, manufacturability, process capability, test coverage, and corrective actions.
- Support production test methods, end-of-line test requirements, process optimization, and continuous-improvement initiatives for electronic products and assemblies.
- Prepare and update test reports, schematics, specifications, technical documentation, validation records, and engineering-change records.
- Collaborate with R&D, optical, mechanical, software, manufacturing, quality, purchasing, product engineering, and external supplier teams.
- Apply structured problem solving, data analysis, and sound engineering judgment to support automotive product development from concept through validation and production launch.
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Engineering Physica, Computer Engineering, or an equivalent technical background.
- Experience with circuit design, electronics testing, embedded systems, power electronics, or automotive electrical systems is preferred.
- Familiarity with automotive product-development practices, EMC/ESD validation, PCBAs, laboratory instrumentation, and structured problem solving is beneficial.
