About this Role
DSI, Dynamic System a Quanta company is seeking an Electrical Engineer to provide electrical engineering support for DSI's HVAC and plumbing mechanical projects, focused on the power, controls, and equipment-connection needs of mechanical systems. Coordinates closely with mechanical engineers, controls engineers, and designers to ensure electrical scope for mechanical equipment is properly designed, documented, and coordinated with other trades. This is a support role to DSI's core mechanical scope — not a stand-alone electrical design practice.
What You'll Do
- Design power distribution, disconnects, and control wiring associated with HVAC and plumbing mechanical equipment (chillers, boilers, AHUs, pumps, VFDs, etc.)
- Coordinate electrical equipment connections and load requirements with mechanical engineers and controls engineers
- Review electrical contractor drawings and submittals for coordination with mechanical equipment requirements
- Perform electrical load calculations and equipment sizing for mechanical system power needs
- Support site visits and field coordination to verify electrical connections match mechanical equipment requirements
- Review and respond to RFIs related to electrical-mechanical coordination during construction
- Ensure electrical scope tied to mechanical systems complies with applicable codes (NEC and local amendments)
What You'll Bring
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field
- 4 6 years' experience in electrical design, ideally with exposure to mechanical/HVAC equipment coordination
- Working knowledge of power distribution, motor controls, and VFD applications as they relate to mechanical equipment
- Ability to read and interpret mechanical and electrical construction documents
- Strong coordination and communication skills for working across mechanical, controls, and electrical trades
Preferred Qualifications
- PE license or EIT
- Experience with mechanical contractor or design-build project delivery
- Familiarity with Revit MEP or similar BIM coordination tools
