OverviewThe Electrical Professional Engineer I (PE I) applies fundamental engineering principles to design, analyze, and support electrical systems for energy and infrastructure projects across hospital and college campuses. This role develops code-compliant, constructible designs-including power distribution, renewable energy, storage, and controls integration-within defined project scopes. The PE I collaborates with multidisciplinary teams to ensure coordination with existing facilities, supports permitting and procurement efforts, and responds to field conditions. Responsibilities include preparing accurate calculations, drawings, and specifications, maintaining design documentation, and contributing to systems that meet performance, reliability, and energy efficiency objectives consistent with ENFRA's design-build delivery model.
Responsibilities- Responsible for signing and sealing engineering documents, as applicable.
- Designs solar energy, battery energy storage, fuel cell, and combined heat and power plants with guidance from senior engineers.Performs analysis and design of electrical systems (power distribution, low/medium voltage systems, lighting, controls, etc.).
- Performs basic calculations for utility interconnects, arc flash, and short-circuit and breaker coordination studies.
- Prepares calculations, drawings, and specifications under established standards.
- Conducts site visits, field assessments, and data collection. May coordinate and plan 3D laser scanning efforts.
- Assists in project coordination with multidisciplinary teams.
- Applies engineering techniques within defined assignments.
- Performs work under general supervision.
- Handles moderately complex issues; escalates complex challenges to senior staff.
