This Role

AMS is seeking an Electrical Engineer with 5+ years of relevant experience to support electrical testing, troubleshooting, data acquisition, and technical documentation for safetycritical systems. This is a handson role that offers deep exposure to I&C systems, real plant environments, and advanced diagnostic equipment.

AMS provides structured training, strong mentorship, and clear career pathways for engineers who want to grow into specialized contributors in the nuclear industry.

Responsibilities

 Perform hands-on testing and troubleshooting of I&C systems used in nuclear power plants Support laboratory testing, field measurements, and electrical data acquisition Prepare equipment for plant trips, ensuring accurate configuration and documentation Assist with signal measurements, equipment setup, and structured engineering evaluations Contribute to troubleshooting when equipment or test results don't meet expected criteria Assist in hardware development, prototype assembly, and equipment refinement Draft technical reports, trip reports, and documentation with strong attention to detail Follow strict quality assurance and engineering workflow requirements Collaborate with multidisciplinary engineering teams and represent AMS professionally onsite

Qualifications

 

Required

 Bachelors or Masters degree in Electrical Engineering or related field Approximately 5+ years of engineering experience Strong analytical and problemsolving ability Handson experience with instrumentation, controls, electrical systems, circuits, hardware, or data acquisition Familiarity with test equipment: oscilloscopes, multimeters, generators, spectrum/network analyzers, DAQ systems Excellent communication skills and high documentation accuracy Ability to follow structured engineering and QA procedures Willingness to travel (~25%) U.S. citizenship required

Preferred

 Coursework/experience in signal processing, circuits, electrical measurements, hardware development Experience in nuclear, aerospace, defense, automotive, or similar regulated environments Experience with hardware troubleshooting, repair, or prototype assembly Familiarity with EMC/EMI standards (MILSTD461, IEC 61000) Experience writing structured engineering documentation
