As an Electrical Engineer II, you will play a key role in the design, development, and testing of electrical/electronic systems for aerospace and defense applications. You will be responsible for designing and integrating electrical/electronic systems, validating electrical/electronic systems, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality products.
Responsibilities:- Contribute to the instrumentation effort from design to de-modification through requirements development, design, lab test, integration, and test operations support
- Plan, participate, and execute test plan development to ensure objective results are of sound quality
- Responsible for developing, modifying, and implementing standard operating procedures for instrumentation hardware and system design
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including mechanical, systems, and test engineers to ensure seamless integration of instrumentation systems.
- Maintain, document, and control NIST standards for calibration and verification of measurement equipment.
Qualifications You Must Have:- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
- 2+ years of experience in electrical engineering or a related role.
- Higher level relevant degree may substitute for experience.
- Proficiency in electrical/electronic circuit design and testing techniques.
- Knowledge of engineering principles and practices.
- Experience with Computer Aided Engineering tools.
- Familiarity with working in multi-disciplinary design and development teams.
Qualifications We Prefer:- Master's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
- Experience with Computer-Aided Design (CAD) software for electrical applications.
- Understanding of aerospace and defense industry standards.
- Exposure to simulations through functional and logical models and system analysis.
- Exposure to FAA electrical system regulations, including Electrical Wiring Interconnection System (EWIS) requirements.
- Exposure to electrical/electronic Failure Modes and Effects Analysis (FMEA) and System Safety Assessment (SSA) concepts.
- Understanding of an Electrical Load Analysis (ELA).
- Experience with circuit modeling, simulation, and analysis.
- Knowledge of electrical component selection and manufacturing.
- Understanding Electromagnetic Effects (EME) to include Electromagnetic Compatibility (EMC) and Electromagnetic Interference (EMI).
- Experience in digital or analog circuit design and schematic capture.
- Understanding of the printed circuit board layout process and tools.
- Background in the Aerospace and Defense Industry
- Experience with extensive ground and flight test programs
- Familiar with Ethernet, 1553, ARINC 429, and CAN bus protocol
- Familiar with Curtiss Wright and/or similar data acquisition systems
